ANNOUNCEMENTS
For the first time in the history of FAN we can say we are breaking product news, instead of just reporting on it. The team at Arthrex reached out with some inside scoop on a new product release coming in February. We are pumped to bring this news to our readers.

Check out the list of foot and ankle podcasts we put together for your listening enjoyment. The wife and kids will love hearing about how weight bearing radiographs can reliably predict normal ankle congruence in Weber B/SER2 and 4a ankle fractures on your next road trip.

FAN Response
Thanks for reaching out. Right now, we have no formal avenue of article submission. We write everything ourselves. If you have something to share about your company, you can send it to me and we will work to get it into the newsletter if it is applicable to our audience. Always open to new ideas.

ARTHREX MIS JIG
The Arthrex Minimally
Invasive Bunionectomy
Product Highlights
-
Shift - The patent-pending shifting device allows for precise shifting of the capital fragment laterally to match the patient’s correction needs
-
Aim - The trajectory system aids in the percutaneous placement of two parallel guidewires into the capital fragment for reproducible screw placement
-
Fixate - Beveled FT screws provide zero-profile and no-compression fixation, and allow for more robust instrumentation for ease of implantation
|
|
Of all minimally invasive systems on the market, Arthrex offers a complete system with product and performance. The comprehensive system of power, instruments, and implants specifically designed for MIS Bunion correction is further elevated with the marketing campaign of BunionPain.com. The ‘Find a Doctor’ function on the site will drive patients directly to your office and OR.
Arthrex has gone all in on MIS bunions, and why wouldn’t they. This company was built on minimally invasive innovation starting with Reinhold's days in the Black Forest of Germany. Direct to patient marketing website, Bunionpain.com, is a prime example that Arthrex understands how the ways in which both patients and physicians are receiving information about orthopedic devices and procedures is changing. More to come on direct to patient marketing next week.
This new MIS platform is due to launch sometime in February. This system will no doubt simplify the procedure and increase overall adoption of MIS bunions.

COMING SOON: PIPELINE PRODUCTS 2022

NEXTREMITY
Nextremity is the surgeon driven, foot and ankle device company based in Warsaw, Indiana that is exclusively distributed by Zimmer Biomet. This arrangement with ZB puts their products into a large network of distributors across the country, which is great. However, it could be argued that the focus on Foot and Ankle by this Knee and Hip Arthroplasty giant has not been there iand the direction of ZB foot and ankle is still sort of a question mark. Perhaps these product launches in 2022 will kick start something big for Nextremity in 2022. ZB is a potential landing spot for a big acquisition in 2022.
NEXTREMITY announced 510Ks

PARAGON 28
These guys again? I cannot keep them out of this newsletter if I tried. Paragon continues to be on the offensive, filling every conceivable hole in their bag at a breakneck pace. While we have very limited information on these products I found the information was still worth reporting.
The most anticipated product – a new syndesmotic device by P28. Ankle fracture (if counted as a foot and ankle market share and not trauma) makes up approx. 50% of all sales volume for the foot and ankle market based on industry reports. Bottom-line, Syndesmosis is a massive market and if P28 has a better mousetrap, it could make things more interesting in taking a bite out of Arthrex dominance in this space.
Below products are expected to be released sometime in 2022, linked are brief press releases..
