6th Annual Fall BRAzaar is TODAY!

If you live in the metro Richmond area, don’t miss the 6th Annual Fall BRAzaar on October 1st hosted by the Bon Air Women’s Club with proceeds to benefit VBCF.  This free women’s health fair is held at the Steel Horse Harley Davidson in Midlothian and features live music, health resources, free mammograms and vendors. VBCF Celebrates 25 Years This Month!

A huge thank you to Governor Terry McAuliffe for his Certificate of Recognition for VBCF’s 25th Anniversary and to Delegates Peace, Boysko, Hester and Rasoul and Senator Dunnavant for sponsorship of a Commending Resolution for VBCF’s 25th in the General Assembly. In addition, the Governor’s Mansion will be lit pink the evening of October 6, 2016 to raise awareness about breast cancer and commemorate VBCF’s 25 years of service working to educate and advocate for Virginians to eradicate breast cancer.

While October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, VBCF keeps a calendar of VBCF events and local, state, and national breast health related educational offerings updated all year long. 

We’re Almost There - Help VBCF Receive a $10,000 Matching Gift!

Throughout the fall, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will work through VA ABC stores to highlight VBCF and urge customers to support our mission.  All online donations to VBCF received now through October 31, 2016 will be matched, dollar for dollar, by Tito’s up to $10,000!  A huge thank you to Tito’s for this amazing opportunity! 

2016 Sherry Kohlenberg Healthcare Service Award

Congratulations to Dr. Todd Adams, Radiation Oncologist with VCU Health at Stony Point in Richmond, VA and recipient of  VBCF’s 2016 Sherry Kohlenberg Healthcare Service Award. Since 1995, VBCF has presented the Kohlenberg Award annually to recognize individuals employed in the healthcare field who exhibit a deep and abiding commitment to the fight against breast cancer. Do You Know Someone Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer?

VBCF offers FREE Newly Diagnosed packets with helpful information and support resources specific to a person’s local community as well as state and national assistance to help deal with treatment and beyond.

VBCF in Medically Underserved Areas

This year, VBCF staff and volunteers are attending every Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic in Virginia to offer breast health education to those in need. The last clinic of this year is October 1-2 in Grundy, and VBCF will be there! Click here to learn more about our involvement with RAM and how you can get involved.

Are You a Breast Cancer Survivor? Do You Want to Share Your Story?

VBCF gets requests from groups across Virginia for speakers for events large and small. We invite survivors who are willing to share their story, as well as spread awareness and education, to join our Speaker’s Bureau. On-going Fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 

King Technical Apparel, a family-owned business based in North Garden, VA designed a special breast cancer awareness performance athletic sock and will donate 10% of sales to VBCF.

Custom Ink is an online t-shirt design company headquartered in Northern Virginia. Their “Three Hearts Volunteer Team” is supporting breast cancer awareness with a special t-shirt design in October.  All proceeds from the sales of these shirts will be donated to VBCF. This is the 2nd year that Custom Ink has supported VBCF during October.

When you shop at Carpetland USA in October a portion of the proceeds will be donated to VBCF!  Participating stores: Roanoke, Christiansburg, Lynchburg, Danville and Martinsburg.
