Time to Quit? COVID-19 and Tobacco Use
Because it attacks the lungs, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 could be an especially serious threat to those who smoke tobacco or vape.

According to the World Health Organization, tobacco users may be at a higher risk. The act of smoking and vaping means that fingers are in contact with lips which increases the possibility of transmission of virus from hand to mouth.
May is Asthma & Allergy Awareness Month
Albuterol Inhaler Shortage
What Should Patients Do?

What should you do if you or your child are having trouble getting an albuterol inhaler? The recommendations below from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) offer practical ideas for coping:
  1. First, don’t panic. Check your inhaler to make sure it still has medicine.
  2. If necessary, you can likely use your expired albuterol inhaler as it is probably still at least partially effective.
  3. If you can’t get a refill on your metered dose inhaler, contact your allergist or healthcare provider as there are other options available which they can prescribe.
  4. It is important that you not overuse your albuterol inhaler, as one canister should last for month.

If you suffer with allergies, spring pollen can trigger breathing issues. Learn mor e here.
New Faces at Breathe NH
Breathe NH in the Community:

We welcome Louise Hobden to our Board of Directors
I am interested in connecting others in the COPD community to the resources available so they can live healthier, fuller lives Additionally, I am also interested in participating and promoting research opportunities to help find a cure. My proudest COPD moment has been being Breathe NH's volunteer of the year! A great honor from a wonderful organization!
My inspiration to share is, “In-spire (verb) (1): to encourage somebody to greater effort, enthusiasm, or creativity(2) to awaken a particular feeling in somebody. [Latin--inspirare "to breathe"] Not really a quote but I love it!
