Dear Breck Alumni,

Spring break at Breck is in full swing, and our students, faculty, and staff are heading out to various locations and events. Breck Robotics Team 3630 is in Huntsville, AL, for the FIRST Robotics Competition - Rocket City Regional. The boys' basketball team is rolling into the state tournament in their bid to defend their state title. And there are various trips and competitions -- in addition to college visits and time for rejuvenation. This follows a busy month of our students taking midterms, the first grade island adventure, the gymnastics team taking 3rd in State, strong showings at science fairs, a Middle School art show, DECA competitions, and an incredible Blue & Gold Bash! The list of impressive things Breck students and the school are doing goes on and on.

And although the pace of Breck might mean Spring Break for many, we know the work of our alumni community is unceasing. I encourage you to stay connected to Breck. Follow our social media, speak in a class, invest in the school, complete the alumni survey, plan a reunion, or join the alumni council. We're building on the strong foundation you established, and we want you to be part of what's next at Breck.

As always, filled with Breck Mustang Pride

The JJ Oesterle '10 Memorial Fund is Established at Columbia University

Justine Oesterle—“JJ” to many of us—was a model of human compassion and concern for the well-being of others. She was passionate about social and disability justice and dedicated her life to advancing those goals. In her memory, and to ensure that JJ’s work will continue, friends have established the Justine (“JJ”) Oesterle Fund for Social and Disability Justice at the Columbia University School of Social Work.

From the Archives

David Paul Johnson was a student at Breck in the late 1940s. He shared with the Alumni Office his fond memories of his time at Breck's Como Campus, especially riding his Mustang, Bourbon, at Breck and Camp Braemar on Long Lake near Park Rapids. "Davie" learned how to ride from famous Breck faculty members Bob Schanke and Phillip Verbrugghen. David recently donated his first-grade uniform to Breck's archives. What a wonderful gift, David!

Reunion planning for the fall of 2025 has begun for several classes. Please reach out to the Alumni Office if you would like to be a part of your class planning committee. Additional emails will be sent to classes that decide to have a reunion throughout the spring and fall that will include a registration page.
