Our beloved Brenda Kidwell, passed away last last week after a courageous battle. Our hearts and prayers go out to her husband Tim, and their daughters Katie and Elizabeth.

Students on Friday wrote heartfelt messages and decorated her school bus. She will be sorely missed.

We are sharing her obituary and the funeral arrangements to the whole BSH community.

Brenda Lee Gray Kidwell (60) of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away on January 26, 2022. She was the wife of John Timothy Kidwell, Sr. They shared 37 years of marriage and were best friends and soulmates.

Born at Camp Lejeune, NC, she was the daughter of Joyce Gray and Robert Gray (Mary Jo). Her employer was Blessed Sacrament Huguenot School (BSH). She considered the BSH students, teachers, and staff part of her family.
Brenda was the heart of her family and loved bringing people together. She had a vibrant personality and boundless energy. Brenda could outwork anyone. She enjoyed crafting and sharing gifts with others. She was generous and always looking for ways to help. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Helen "Amy" Kidwell, Karen Kidwell, John Timothy Kidwell, Jr. (Danielle), Katherine Kidwell (Hunter McBride), Elizabeth Kidwell (Josh Karger); grandchildren, Amy Kidwell, Chloe Andrasen, Sophia Kidwell, John Timothy Kidwell, III, Susanna Kidwell, Emmitt McBride, and Lennox McBride; one great-grandchild Karson Kidwell; her siblings, Deborah Gray, Robert Gray, Ronald Gray (Carol), and DeAnna Orvig (Jon); brothers-in-law, Douglas Kidwell and Kent Kidwell (Dottie); her step-mother, Mary Gray, and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that adored her. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Barbara Meacham (Mike), her sisters-in-law Joan Kidwell and Shirley Kidwell, and brother-in-law Richard Kidwell.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 4th in the St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Powhatan, VA beginning at 5:00 pm, services start at 6:30 pm, if anyone would like to share a memory. A funeral mass service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, February 5th, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Powhatan, VA 23139. Reverend Walter Lewis will officiate.
