Lydia Joyner: From Foster Care to Filmmaking
Merritt Island High alum and writer/director Lydia Joyner will share her experiences growing up in the foster care system and overcoming adversity to become a filmmaker. She has adapted her life story into a feature film which will be produced this spring.
Lydia will be speaking at the Cocoa Beach Library on September 30th at 3PM. Come to see what she's working on and hear her remarkable story!

Angels in Adoption Award for Intervention Services
Rep. Sandy Adams (FL-24) recently announced that Intervention Services, Inc. (ISI) was selected as Florida's 24th District Angels in Adoption™ winner for 2012. Representatives of ISI and Brevard Family Partnership traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to participate in the awards ceremony and take part in the events honoring adoption heroes from around the country.

Brevard Candidate Forum hosted by BFP, CHS and Devereux
Brevard Family Partnership, along with partners Children's Home Society Florida - Brevard Division and Devereux hosted a candidate forum on September 14, 2012. The goal was to give those who serve or have an interest in the welfare and safety of children to hear directly from the candidates their platforms and how they are aligned with supporting the successful, locally operated, Community Based Care model and the mission of the organizations' roles of protecting children and strengthening families.
