WELCOME. Let me introduce you to Daily Laboratories. 
Daily Laboratories, Division of Mobilab, Inc. is a private ISO-certified laboratory serving diverse industries including food, dairy, meat, produce, water, cosmetic, plastic and paper companies.  We can test products and environmental samples.

 The laboratory was established in 1960 as a raw milk testing laboratory. We are a woman-owned business and have expanded to provide microbiological services for other industries. We are also capable of testing for the presence of pesticides residue and allergens in environmental samples.

U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps 

 
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide organization dedicated to helping American youth realize personal success and achievement through a nautically oriented training program. Through Sea Cadet leadership, young Americans ages 11 through 13 (Navy League Cadets) and ages 13 through 18 (Sea Cadets) develop interest and skill in basic seamanship and its naval adaptations, while learning the value of patriotism, courage, self reliance, teamwork and accountability.

FSMA Environmental Monitoring - Clear as Mud

 
As we continue our analysis and review of the rules, our focus this week is on environmental monitoring. As expected FDA is developing guidance on environmental monitoring, but until then, it is helpful to understand the key points of the provisions and what you will be required to do.
The simplest explanation of the requirements for environmental monitoring comes straight from the rule: This final regulation requires domestic and foreign facilities to "institute risk-based environmental monitoring ... as appropriate to the food, the facility, and the nature of the preventive controls."

The following are the remarks by Naval Adm. William H. McRaven, ninth commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, at the University-wide Commencement at The University of Texas at Austin on May 17: ....  

   "It's been almost 37 years to the day that I graduated from UT. I remember a lot of things about that day. I remember I had throbbing headache from a party the night before. I remember I had a serious girlfriend, whom I later married - that's important to remember by the way - and I remember that I was getting commissioned in the Navy that day. .... "

Agar Art

A Microbiologist Recreated 'Starry Night' With Bacteria In A Petri Dish and it's not too shabby. 

American Society for Microbiology had their first Agar  Art  contest. The competition invited microbiologists to get in touch with their cultural sides in more ways than one, exploring the infectious beauty of infectious bacteria.
