Today's 1% Wednesday feature is The Local Brew , whose goal is to provide delicious, responsibly sourced cuisine and refreshments. Each item on the menu is curated by Forbes Five Star Chef and former chef of the Georgian Room, Aaron Bellizzi .

Aaron’s intention is to partner with local farmers and build a menu based on the freshest ingredients possible. Local vendors include GreenWay Gardens , 4 Acre Farms , Southern Brothers Farms , Uncle Don’s , and many more. They have also partnered with ECO, a plant-based packaging company that allows them to remain green in their commitment to responsibly sourced packaging.
In addition to participating in the 1% for St. Simons program, which Aaron says he is “grateful to support,” The Local Brew has also donated to other local non-profit organizations each month including The Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia, The STAR Foundation, House of Hope, The Manna House, and No Kill Glynn County.

During COVID-19, The Local Brew joined forces with Certified Burgers and Beverage and Halyards in the Golden Isles Meals to Heal initiative. Meals to Heal is a way to give nourishing meals to families who are having a challenging time because of being recently unemployed or struggling with other issues during this time of uncertainty.

Currently, The Local Brew is providing take-out, curbside pickup, and delivery along with a few outdoor seating options. Prior to the shelter in place, The Local Brew only served breakfast and lunch but have expanded to dinner as well!
