BRIAN FALLON CELEBRATES THE SEASON WITH NIGHT DIVINE

ALL-NEW HOLIDAY COLLECTION OF CLASSIC HYMNS AND CAROLS
AVAILABLE NOW VIA LESSER KNOWN RECORDS/THIRTY TIGERS
EPIC NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR BACKED BY THE HOWLING WEATHER RUNS JANUARY 11 TO MARCH 5
Brian Fallon is celebrating the arrival of winter and the upcoming Yuletide season with today’s release of his all-new holiday album. An intimate collection of classic hymns and carolsNight Divine is available everywhere now via Lesser Known Records/Thirty Tigers.

PURCHASE/STREAM NIGHT DIVINE

Produced and recorded by Fallon at his New Jersey home during last year’s quarantine, Night Divine comprises singular renditions of such beloved Christmas carols as “O Holy Night,” “The First Noel,” and “Silent Night,” alongside deeply personal takes on the timeless hymns and spirituals that form his earliest musical memories.

"In some ways, I've been working on this record in my head since I was a kid," says Fallon. "These songs are some of my most cherished musical memories, and I hope that people are able to turn to them not just in the coming weeks, but any time they're in need of a little peace or comfort."

NIGHT DIVINE was first heralded by Fallon’s powerful versions of “Virgin Mary Had One Son” and “Amazing Grace,” both available now at all DSPs and streaming services. Hailed by Kerrang! as “beautifully haunting,” “Amazing Grace” debuted last month while “Virgin Mary Had One Son” first heralded Night Divine earlier this fall and was met by immediate praise from such outlets as SPIN, which wrote, “Combining a rippling guitar effect, his raspy, soothing voice, Fallon renders a beautifully modern, alternative twist to the Christian tune. Famously sung by the Staple Singers, Fallon respectfully and originally performs the song.” “Fallon keeps ‘Virgin Mary Had One Son’ close to its folk-standard origins,” wrote Rolling Stone, “adding some shaken percussion and low, sustained piano notes to compliment his acoustic guitar arpeggios. Fallon sings with a mixture of awe and solemnity that fits a retelling of the Christian savior’s birth.”

Last night, Fallon shared a live performance video of "Virgin Mary Had One Son" that was filmed by Kelsey Hunter Ayres at Christ Church in Shrewsbury, NJ.

“We filmed these performances at Christ Church in Shrewsbury, NJ. I’ve never attended the church myself, but I remember seeing it and its very, very old graveyard when I was growing up," Fallon shares. "We would pass by anytime we’d drive home. It was situated on the way to where I lived in Red Bank from the main highways so it was sort of this landmark that let me know I was almost home. The image of the Church building – representing redemption and hope to my young mind – mixed with the very real presence of death just in the garden outside the church doors has long affected me. You can hear that very subject in the song 'The 59 Sound' all the way up to the songs on Night Divine.”
