Foraging Tour Success

Thank you to the 45 alumni, students, and friends who celebrated Earth Week by joining our second-ever Foraging Tour at Chabot College on Thursday, April 20th. A special thank you to our tour facilitators, Blessing Morris and Anamarie Navarro Tabujara, who shared an abundance of knowledge about ethical foraging while admiring nature in our Chabot backyard.

Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023 for our next community hike at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park. Enjoy a refreshing, casual walk while networking.


Schedule:

8:30 A.M. - Sign-In, Meet & Greets

8:50 A.M. - Begin Hike

11:30 A.M. - Conclude Hike


We will meet at the Canyon Meadow Staging Area at 8:30 A.M. for meet and greets. We anticipate starting the hike around 8:50 A.M. and concluding around 11:30 A.M. 


Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please bring your own water, snacks, and anything else you might need to make your walk comfortable. Parking at the event is $5. Please note there is no cell phone/wi-fi reception at the park.


Please be sure to RSVP by Thursday, May 6 at 12 noon. Pending the number RSVPs, we may postpone.

Annual Brick Fundraiser

Want to honor a loved one, a student, a soon-to-be retiree, your favorite Chabot program or even a business partner? Consider purchasing a $250 commemorative brick. These special 4" x 8" grey granite bricks are located in the breezeway between the 700 buildings on the Chabot College campus.

All proceeds go to support Chabot students and programs, and a portion of your payment is tax-deductible. To receive an order form with more details and engraving ideas, please contact:

On April 21st, over 50 local high school counselors visited Chabot for Spring High School Counselor Day. Thank you to our fantastic local high school counseling partners for joining in a day of learning, sharing, touring the campus, and great comradery.

Honoring Women's History Month

In honor of Women’s History Month, Chabot's El Centro hosted the second annual Paint Night on March 23rd, featuring the iconic Selena! Over 50 students, community members, families, and staff members joined in the fun night of music, painting, and healing. The event helped raise funds for a donation to Ruby’s Place, a women’s shelter for victims of domestic abuse or human trafficking.
