Where Are They Now: Catching Up with Brick Alum
Emily Abelson, Assistant Teacher
Many of my earliest memories take place at Brick, from riding tricycles in the garden to being one of many lambs in the church’s Christmas pageant. As a life-long member of Brick’s congregation, I knew that my 2002 graduation from the school would not be my last time in the building, but I could never have expected then to be involved in our Brick community to the extent that I am now.
As a fourth-year teacher in the school and a first-year deacon in the church, I am grateful to spend so many of my days and nights present in a space I feel so much love for. Although much of the world has changed in the 25 years I have gone to Brick, I can always count on the Brick community to match the optimism, respect, and love I carry with me in the classroom, the sanctuary, and beyond.
