#StayDifferent

The Bridge Boston Annual Report

Bridge Boston Charter School, as exemplified by this Annual Report, continues to #StayDifferent. But what makes BBCS different from other schools? While you’ll find 12 tangible examples of Bridge’s unique programs in this beautiful wall calendar, there is another important question that we’ve been exploring over the past 6 months: How do we make sure we remain a uniquely innovative school for many years to come?

Strategic Planning

To that end, we set out last March to develop a strategic plan that will carry Bridge forward well into the future. Facilitated by Tammy Tai of Tai Consulting, we formed a diverse planning committee of staff, board members and parents. The committee conducted surveys, focus groups and reviewed years of outcomes data to identify our internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as the external opportunities and challenges in the Boston education landscape.

By 2034, BBCS will put its entire community – students, staff and families – on a path to economic liberty.

This goal might seem “big” for a school, but that’s the point - Bridge has never been a “traditional” place and our commitment to our community has never been contained in traditional notions of what a school is about. Furthermore, this speaks to the core of what a charter school is, fundamentally: We’re not “just schools.” We exist to take on big challenges. We consider this incredible 10-year goal as an extension of our original mission to remove barriers for families and students.

We remain grateful to the educators, leaders, staff, families, community partners, board members, donors, and friends without whom our life-changing work would not be possible. Thank you to those who have been with us since Bridge Boston was a mere new idea; to those who shaped us to our unique identity; to those who have just joined our community as we look forward to new ways of living our mission; and especially to those who support us as we adapt and change. We are incredibly grateful for your support as we invest in the growth that will help Bridge Boston Charter School continues to #StayDifferent.

With heartfelt thanks,
