Good afternoon

Starting Friday night, November 11, two consecutive weekend bridge slides are scheduled requiring the closure of Pontiac Avenue at the Route 37 Interchange in Cranston. Get more information here.

_
Hunts Mill Bridge, East Providence

Precast concrete sections of the bridge are being delivered and installed as part of the accelerated construction methods for its replacement. Come spring and summer, we also plan to install the historic features to resemble the previous bridge, such as the precast bridge arch and baluster rails. We remain on schedule to open the closed bridge to traffic this winter and complete the project next summer.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

Route 6 East and West under I-95 and various ramps on I-95 at the Exit 37 (old Exit 22) interchange remain closed overnight for bridge demolition, with overnight alternating lane closures on both directions of I-95 from Exits 37B (old Exit 22A) to 38 (old Exit 23) for work at the Smith Street Bridge. Daytime micropile installation is also planned, with alternating lane closures on Ashburton Street. Expect noise for all operations.

Pawtucket/Central Falls Transit Center

We began to install the elevator and glass along the access ramps at the Transit Center, and continued to install landscaping. We also placed site amenities such as bicycle racks, benches, signage, and trash receptacles. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing activities were also featured with wiring, adding fixtures and working on platform drainage.

Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport

Night work is expected next week along the Route 138 extension for relocation of overhead utility lines. In addition, overnight paving is also planned for Thursday night along JT Connell Highway just north of the roundabout. Detours and police details will be present to guide motorists. Grading of the shared use path near the cemetery will be done as well as paving operations in the vicinity of the Tradesmen area. Various conduit work is planned along a portion of the new connector road. Mast arm foundation construction will also be conducted site wide. Bridge rehabilitation and demolition work will continue along Route 138 for the overpasses and may require temporary lane shifts along Third Street and JT Connell Highway. Flaggers and police details will be onsite to guide vehicles through the work zones.

Reservoir Avenue Railroad Bridge, Providence

We are finishing up the temporary electrification barrier, and installing stay-in-place forms, on which the rebar and the concrete bridge deck will ultimately be installed. Motorists and pedestrians continue to follow detours around the closed bridge.

_

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence

Weekday alternating lane closures are scheduled along Route 10 South, as we pave Route 10 South, between Tobey and Westminster streets, continue to build the future off-ramp from Route 10 South to Westminster Street, and demolish the remaining portion of the Route 6 East Viaduct.

_
Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

On Friday night, November 11, we’re scheduled to install a lane split on I-195 West, just prior to the Washington Bridge so we can create a work zone in the middle of the bridge for its continued rehabilitation. Please use caution when driving through the area as motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern. Overnight next week, for ongoing construction, we need to close Exit 1D (Gano Street) off I-195 West and the on-ramp to I-195 West from Warren Avenue/Veterans Memorial Parkway. Please follow signed detours. Overnight left lane closures on both sides of I-195 are also scheduled for deck work, waterproofing and paving.
