  • Join in the fun and festivities as we celebrate Christmas with music and song!

DECORATING DAY FOR ADVENT - Nov. 20
  • After the 11:00am service.
  • Many hands are needed to decorate the Sanctuary and FLC for Advent and Christmas!
  • 6th grade and up are welcome to help
  • Lunch provided
  • Nursery open from 12:00-2:00pm

UWF CELEBRATION OF ADVENT SEASON - Sunday, Dec. 4
  • All the ladies of the church & their guests are invited
  • Takes place in the Chapel from 5:00-7:00pm
  • Bring a Salad or Sweet to share, enjoy Christmas music, activities and fellowship

  • Come and enjoy this JCUMC cherished tradition!
  • Performances at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00pm in the north parking lot

CHILDREN'S ADVENT EVENT - Sunday,
Dec. 18 from 3:00-4:30pm in the Chapel
  • Everyone is is invited!!
  • A variety of crafts, gift wrapping station and a hot chocolate bar
  • Everyone is encouraged to stay for the Christmas POPS Concert which begins at 5:00pm in the Sanctuary

THE LONGEST NIGHT SERVICE - Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 4:00pm in the Chapel
  • The holidays are often a very difficult time for many people, this service gives space to acknowledge this fact and also remind us of the hope, peace, joy and love that invades the world with the coming of Jesus Christ
 
NEW UWF CIRCLE FORMING - 2nd Sunday of each month from 5:15-7:15pm in Room 202
  • Mothers of middle and high school aged children meet for Christian fellowship, study and service projects. If interested contact Coley Kierstead
WAYS TO SERVE
VOLUNTEER for Children's Programs: We are overflowing with kiddos and need your help!
  • We need Sunday School Teachers! Sign up HERE if you want to start off your Sunday mornings with joy, laughter and sharing God's Word with our children!
  • We need Children's Church Volunteers! 30-60 children participate weekly. No training necessary. Sign up HERE and know that you are so needed.
  • Help provide OR sponsor a meal for our mid-week program J-Walkers. We have around 50 people on Wednesday evenings and Tiffany's meal planning skills are stretched to the limit. Contact Tiffany if you want to help!

HELP our Youth by providing dinner for Catalyst gatherings on Sunday night.

Join in this meaningful Mission for JCUMC, a beloved annual tradition, as we once again partner with the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries to create the Christmas 150 families (450 children!) deserve. We need YOU to make the magic happen! There are several ways to give to ensure each child receives four gifts – three toys and one item of clothing.

  • Rehearsals take place on 11/27 at 5pm, 12/4 at 5pm and 12/11 at 3pm

  1. Set up/Clean up
  2. Sound and Light Operators
  3. Costume Team
  4. Hot Chocolate Team
  5. Fire Pit and Marshmallow Team
  6. Hay Bale Team: we need someone to secure 5-6 bales of hay for the performance
  7. Hospitality and Greeters
  8. Stage Volunteers: Help the youth get to their cues on time

CHILDREN'S News and Events
Children's Sunday School:
  • Each Sunday at 9:45am for Preschool to 5th grade. Join in the joy, laughter and sharing of God's word! (oh, and we have FUN!)

Children's Church:
  • Nov. 27 begins our 4-week Advent series in Children’s Church titled "The Songs of Christmas". Each week focuses on a different carol accompanied by a Scripture verse, lesson and activity.

Time for Young Disciples:
  • Beginning Nov. 27 and for each Sunday of Advent, every child will be given a small magnet. Each magnet connects together to form 1 large magnet comprised of 4 pieces. If your child misses a week, please have them see Tiffany for the missing piece!

J-Walkers Mid-Week Program: Wednesday, Nov. 23
  • NO Mid-week program or Choir. Have an amazing Thanksgiving! We will resume on Nov. 30
CARE AND SUPPORT
If you are in need of a quiet place to spend time with God in prayer and meditation, our Prayer Room beside the Chapel is open from 7:30am to 8:30pm Monday – Friday. 

The entrance is on the Bell Road side of the church and to the right of the Chapel doors. If you choose, also available are battery operated tea lights for lighting and a journal to share your thoughts.
Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness.
