Bridge to Home and the Affordable Housing Committee of the City of Santa Clarita’s Task Force on Homelessness are launching Shared Housing SCV to establish shared living arrangements between home seekers and those with space who are willing to provide housing.

The collaborative effort received a small grant from the City of Santa Clarita to kick off the program. Bridge to Home will serve as the fiscal sponsor and a steering committee of community social service agencies and school districts will help operate it initially. This program was first created by a small group of community members to provide home sharing for senior women. The COVID-19 pandemic encouraged the Task Force to expand the program to all Santa Clarita residents.

If you have an extra bedroom, guest house, or other accommodations and would be willing to rent it or exchange it for household chores or other arrangements, please let us know by email below. Be on the look out for more information as we launch the program.
We are excited to share that planning is well underway for our new shelter building located at Bridge to Home's site on Drayton Street. The building plans have been transmitted to the City of Santa Clarita for the Public Works Department and Planning Commission to review and the City Council to approve later this spring.

Now, we have the exciting opportunity to design the inside of the building. If you’ve served meals at the shelter or have kitchen design expertise, we’d love your input.

We are scheduling a Zoom session for Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. to share ideas. If you can attend, please RSVP via email by Feb. 22.
After decades of portable showers and toilets and no running water in the kitchen, the sewer line has been extended to the Drayton Street shelter site. To celebrate this milestone and to announce our capital campaign to build a new shelter facility, we are holding a virtual ribbon cutting in early March. Look for details in our next newsletter for more information.
