New Director Driving Transportation Department
Coree Cuff Lonergan has been selected as the new Director of Transportation, which includes flagship services such as Broward County Transit (BCT), Paratransit (TOPS!) and Rail. Lonergan replaces retired Director Chris Walton who served the community for nearly 22 years. She has more than 25 years of transportation experience leading transportation teams and transit-related initiatives, large scale capital infrastructure planning and development, and heavy maintenance and construction projects. County Creates New Division to Combat Homelessness
Two functions of the Human Services Department are combining services to ensure homelessness in Broward County is rare, brief and non-recurring in Broward County. The Housing Options, Solutions, and Supports (HOSS) Division has been created to combine services formerly provided by the Homeless Initiative Partnership and the Housing Options Program. HOSS’ mission is to position Broward County as a high-performing homeless service provider and increase coordination of services by addressing the needs of the people served.

ArtLit 2023
This year marks the sixth anniversary of Broward County Library’s ArtLit, a free, popular community celebration of art and literature for all ages, connected with the year's NEA Big Read book selections. It will be held Saturday, February 4, Noon-5PM at South Regional Broward College Library. ArtLit 2023 explores art and literature with a playful explosion of live music, chalk art, spoken word, dance performances, crafts and interactive experiences based upon stories that connect us. Florida Master Naturalist Training Offered
The Youth Environmental Alliance and Broward County Parks' Freshwater Systems Module, the second of three core modules in the University of Florida IFAS-Florida Master Naturalist Program, is now being offered. The 40-hour class, which meets both virtually and in person and includes field training, runs Tuesday, February 13 through Tuesday, March 28. All three modules are required to receive certification as a Florida Master Naturalist. More…
Traffic Alert 
Port tenants, users and visitors may experience heavy traffic and delays today through Sunday, January 29, due to the 2023 Florida Fest Volleyball Tournament being held at the Broward County/Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. More than 10,000 attendees are expected over the three-day tournament. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the Convention Center area and use the Port entrances located at Federal Hwy (US1)/ State Road 84 and I-595/Eller Drive.
