The Virtual Approach to Gynecology Project was developed in collaboration with UCSF’s anatomy department and the UCSF California Prevention Training Center (CAPTC). The study, developed and led by Rosalyn Plotzker, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, compared trainee experiences using virtual reality (VR) simulation to an equivalent non-immersive personal computer (PC) simulation. VR was found to be more realistic and enjoyable and was unanimously preferred. Dr. Plotzker and Stacy Young, MD, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, continue research on the VR pelvic exam simulation with support from the UCSF Baum Family Simulation Faculty Scholars Program. | | Bridges Curriculum Welcomes Faculty Educators | | |
