THIS WEEK'S MESSAGE

Easter instinctively feels hopeful to us. We have a sense that something is new. Something began. Something in which we can join ourselves. But what exactly is that? What started when Jesus rose from the dead? This week, we’ll study His resurrection, the new world it will eventually create, and why it provides so much hope.

NEWS AND EVENTS

We need our Bridges family to help host the Egg Hunt on campus this Sat., April. 19. There’s something for everyone to do! Check in guests at the welcome desk, host an activity table, hide eggs, be a storyteller, or help with set up or clean up. To volunteer, email alba@bridges.church.

The final numbers are in, and Team Bridges raised over $14,600 for the RealOptions Walk for Life! RealOptions not only achieved their fundraising goal of $250,000 on the day of the event, but exceeded it. The total donations for this year's Walk for Life is nearly $267,000. Praise God! RealOptions will continue taking donations for the walk through today. Click the button below to donate.

This Fri., Apr. 18, join us at 5:30pm as we take time to be still and remember Christ’s sacrifice for us, and take communion together. Childcare will be available for ages 0-3.

Invite your friends and neighbors to our annual Easter Egg Hunt this Sat., Apr. 19, at 11:00am! This event is free and open to the community. We'll kick off a fun day with separate hunts for different age groups, story time, and more. All are welcome!

This Sun., Apr. 20, start your Easter morning with us at 9:30am, when we will gather as a church family in the gym to celebrate together Christ’s resurrection with food and fellowship. Elementary through high school students are invited to start with the brunch celebration in the gym, then at about 9:50 their leaders will bring them to their regular rooms to continue the morning. We will then move over to the Worship Center for a special Easter service at 10:45am. Nursery and Pre-K/Kinder classes will meet as usual throughout the morning.

Help us raise funds to pay for the meals we’ll be packing at Silicon Valley MobilePack by participating in our restaurant fundraiser on Tues., Apr. 22. Order a meal at Panda Express that day either online or with their app, and use the code 9002430 at checkout. Panda Express will donate a whopping 28% of all mobile/online orders that use our special code. This code can be used all over the US, so spread the word to family, friends, and coworkers! Is there someone you’ve been meaning to get together with? A teacher you want to surprise by bringing them lunch? Let’s do it on Tues., Apr. 22, and raise money to feed kids around the world.

Adult singles are invited to the Anew Life Group, which meets one Saturday each month from 5:30-8:00pm at Bridges. Through examining the Bible, sharing of testimonies, and small group discussions, we grow our faith in Christ and learn to apply Biblical principles to our daily lives.

RSVP today for our next Membership Intro Meeting, “It’s Not For You (It’s for the Community)”, led by Pastor Dan, on Sun., May 4, at 12:15pm, and hear about the meaning of membership at Bridges! This year marks the 85th anniversary of Bridges/FBCLA! As we work on a special way to celebrate this milestone, we need your help. Elementary students! Join us this summer at Kamp Kindle, June 23-27, 2:00-5:15pm daily at Bridges. This awesome week is Bible camp meets special interest camp, offering separate tracks for ages 6-11 (kids entering 1st grade through outgoing 5th graders) in basketball, table tennis, cooking, and “Makers” — a combo of art and woodworking. Kamp Kindle aims to encourage, equip, and support young hearts and minds to pursue God and the interests He has placed in them. Click the button below for info and to register!

Los Altos Christian School has only a couple of spots left in their Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class for next year! If you know a family who might be interested, please encourage them to sign up for a school tour soon. Bridges is looking for an energetic, ministry-minded person (or people!) who loves young children. Kathy Spillar will be stepping down soon from her various positions, which include Preschool Sunday School Coordinator, as well as Administrative Assistant for both Family Ministries and Missions/Outreach. SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Partner with MUCH Hope this Mother’s Day and bless moms at two local shelters as well as migrant worker moms. Sujana Panthulu is collecting items for gift bags, and we need lots of item donations! Click the button below for the full list of needed items, and bring your donations to church by Sun., May 4. We will then be assembling the gift bags together at Bridges on Sun., May 4, at 12:30pm in the Family Center. To volunteer to help with the gift bags, click the button below.

Join MUCH Hope as they serve local homeless at a shelter in San Jose by providing monthly dinners. Lots of help is needed whether it's for 30 minutes or 2 hours! Volunteer to drop off supplies at Bridges, or help cook in the Bridges kitchen on a designated Sunday. For questions, email sujana.panthulu@gmail.com.
