This Week's News
California Says: “Masks are Not Required for Fully Vaccinated Individuals”
Thank you to everyone for your patience and support throughout all of the recent changes. We are excited to announce the next step in fully reopening worship services at Bridges Community Church. Today (June 15, 2021) the California Department of Public Health updated their guidance on face coverings and social distancing.

Beginning this Sun., June 20, fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear masks

We are also not required to keep detailed attendance records, so we will no longer need to register and check in before each service.

We do understand that not everyone is ready to be inside and unmasked. So we will continue to offer an online service, a live patio broadcast, and both “open” and “socially distanced” seating sections inside the Worship Center

We look forward to seeing you all this Sunday--inside, outside, or online!
Children's Ministry Park Meetups
All families are invited to our kick-off Park Meetup tomorrow at McKenzie Park (707 Fremont Ave, Los Altos)! Meet us at a different local park every Wednesday at 10:00AM between now and July 14 (full schedule HERE). Bring your kids--all ages are welcome!--and come ready for a time of encouragement for you while your child has fun playing, enjoying a small thematic snack, and learning 5 important truths about God. Look for the tall Bridges signs near the main playground!
Respite Event (Parents' Day Out) for Foster Parents -- Our Next All-Church Service Opportunity
Partner with local organization Help One Child to support Bay Area foster families! We will be treating foster and adoptive parents to a couple of kid-free hours while their children are cared for by a volunteer team--that's us! Sign up to help this fun and fantastic service project next Sat., June 26, 11:00AM to 3:00PM (plus a required 45-minute training given at 10:00AM that day). For details on the event and how to volunteer, visit connectbcc.org/serviceopportunities.
Beach Worship Service -- July 25
Our annual Beach Worship Service will be held on July 25 at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz at 11:00AM. Bring a picnic lunch, a towel, and a blanket or a chair, and enjoy a time of worship followed by fellowship on the beach. More details to come!
BCC Elder Nominations
The Elder Nominating Committee is one of the few committees specifically identified in BCC’s constitution and is tasked with screening and recommending candidates for the BCC Elder Board. Elders must be BCC members, possess the qualities laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and be approved by the Elder Board and the congregation before the Annual Meeting in September. Elders serve three-year terms and are limited to two consecutive terms.

We are actively seeking two new Elders this year to join the BCC Board. If you would like to recommend a candidate or just better understand the process, please talk to one of this year’s committee members: Michael Rivers, Marjie Fischer, Ellen Ward, Elise Kho, Sarah Sun, Robbi Rosowski, or Andrew Hill.
Finance Update as of June 13, 2021
These are our current year-to-date giving figures: Actual is $1,348,123; budgeted is $1,403,526; shortfall is $55,403. We are now 3.9% below our General Fund budgeted contributions for the church year, which runs Sept. 1 - Aug. 31.

Did you know that you can text to give? Use your phone’s text messaging function and enter 650-864-4437 as the recipient. In the message field, type “Give” and tap the “send” button. You will receive a text in response with further instructions. More information is available on the BCC giving page.
This Week's Message
Seeing His Glory

Message Title: The Chains Are Off
Speaker: Pastor Dan Stockum
Scripture Focus: Isaiah 61:1-3
To the weary, to the broken, to the bound, to the poor, to the captive, to the faint--Jesus is coming. God has not forgotten you. God sees our distress and sends rescue. When we needed salvation, that's exactly what God provided. If the Christian faith has ever felt like a burden instead of a relief, this week, we see how the chains can fall off.
Use YouVersion Live This Sunday
"YouVersion Bible" is a free app available on most smart phones and mobile devices. Each week, we upload our message notes to YouVersion so you can connect more deeply with the day's teaching. Download the app from Apple's App Store or wherever applications for your device are available.

Pray with Us
Our BCC family prays together virtually on Wednesdays at noon. We'd love to have you join us, even if you can only get away from other things for five minutes. When we come before God's throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need, God hears our prayers and always answers. We invite you to join our prayer time HERE on Zoom every Wednesday at noon. The passcode is: Prayer.

If you can't make the noon meeting, a prayer group also meets on Wednesdays at 7:00PM on Zoom. Please use the same Zoom link and passcode as above.
BCC Zoom Groups
Many of our BCC Life Groups and ministries are meeting virtually using Zoom, an online video conferencing tool. Click HERE to see the groups that are meeting regularly. To join one of our Zoom groups, please contact the group leader. For help setting up a BCC Zoom group of your own, email [email protected].
Serve at Bridges

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to prayerfully consider how God would like you to serve at Bridges, and let us know by filling out this online form: connectbcc.org/serve. If you've already filled out the form, a ministry leader will contact you in the coming weeks to arrange next steps. Thank you for helping build our church!
