Finding Thankfulness

Not all of us approach the holiday season with a spirit of joy and thanksgiving. Many of us face struggles that make it difficult to give thanks. Habakkuk was no different. In fact, his circumstances were likely more challenging than anything most of us will face. However, even in that season, Habakkuk was able to give thanks with sincerity. This week, we’ll study this ancient prophet and find that his source for joy is still available today.

Farewell Reception for David & Susan Stein

Join us this Sun., Nov. 19, as we say thank you and farewell to David and Susan Stein before their big move to Idaho next week. There will be spots to drop off cards with messages for them and a time to express our gratitude for their service to our church family for the past 18 years. Let’s send the Steins off with all of our love! Meet upstairs in the Family Center right after the worship service. This will take the place of Fellowship Hour on the patio. All are welcome.

Memorial Service for Joe Babb

A memorial service for Joe Babb will be held this Sat., Nov. 18, at 11:00am in the Bridges Worship Center, with a reception to follow. Please continue to keep his loved ones in your prayers.

Baja Mission Trip Team Meeting — November 19

The first meeting for those joining our short-term mission team to Baja, Mexico will be this Sun., Nov. 19, after the worship service in the Student Ministry Center. Pizza and salad will be provided for lunch, but you must RSVP by Fri., Nov. 17, to steve@bridges.church.

Bridges Office Closed for Thanksgiving

The church office will be closed for Thanksgiving from Wed., Nov. 22, through Fri., Nov. 24. We will reopen on Mon., Nov. 27.

Parents' Night Out — Dec. 8

Let Los Altos Christian Schools give your kid(s) an evening of fun while you enjoy Parents' Night Out! Drop off grades K - 6th at our gym beginning at 5:00pm on Fri., Dec. 8. SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Join MUCH Hope for a Thanksgiving outreach to local homeless in our community at the East Palo Alto shelter this Sun., Nov. 19. We will have a formal sit-down dinner with a festive meal for the guests, and we need your help to make this happen! This holiday season, Bridges is supporting the Salvation Army in three ways as a church-wide service opportunity: ringing the red kettle bell, blessing a local family with Christmas gifts through Adopt-a-Family, and donating gift cards at our Christmas tree in the Worship Center lobby. Israel is experiencing her worst tragedy in decades. What can we do to help? How can we let the people of Israel know they are not alone? What are some of the ways we can make a difference right now?

Join us in Baja, Mexico, as we work with Baja Christian Ministries again on MLK Weekend, Jan. 11-15, 2024. We will be building a home for a needy family currently living in inadequate housing conditions, and conducting outreach activities in order to share God’s love with children and families.

Bridges is partnering with several other local churches to host, in person on our campus, the 10th Annual Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine Prom for teens and young adults with special needs. Mark your calendar on Fri., Feb. 9, 2024! To make this beautiful night happen, we need over 500 volunteers to make this evening a success, including help supporting parents in the parent room, parking and safety teams, decorations, hair stylists, make up artists, shoe shiners, set up, clean up, and more.

We’d love for each person to find a place to use their God-given gifts within our Bridges family. Prayerfully consider how God would like you to serve, and then fill out our online form. Thank you for helping build our church!
