Our Annual Celebration is THIS Sun., Sept 27! Bridges members will begin the morning with a ministry meeting at 9:00am, then everyone is invited to our worship service at 10:45am and potluck at 12:00pm (including treats by Kona Ice!).

Please bring a dish to share according to the first letter of your last name — A-G: dessert; H-Z: side or salad. If your dish accommodates any dietary restrictions, please make a note to go alongside your dish so those with sensitivities know they can enjoy it. No need to bring serving utensils—we'll provide them.

Classes for infants and Pre-K through elementary will be available this Sunday from 9:00am until the potluck starts. Middle and high school students are welcome to hang out in the Student Ministry Center starting at 9:00am until their regular meeting time.

WE NEED HELP WITH SET-UP ON BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, as well as with clean-up and other tasks on Sunday to make this celebration run smoothly. Click the button below to sign up!  

Bridges Town Hall

Our Bridges Elders have identified a few items in our church constitution that need attention, and the proposed changes will bring us into alignment with our practice. (Please note: None of the changes concern doctrinal matters.) This Wed., Sept. 23, at 6:30pm in our Worship Center, our leadership will be available to respond to any questions you may have. Enjoy an evening of hope and inspiration at RealOptions Obria Medical Clinics’ annual IgniteLife benefit this Sat., Sept. 26, 5:00-8:30pm in-person at Calvary Chapel in San Jose (or 6:15-8:00pm via livestream). Guest speaker will be Seth Gruber, Founder of The White Rose Resistance.

Now is the time of year when our Bridges elders seek to discern God's will for new church leaders, and we are grateful to have two outstanding men as nominees for the role of Elders. Elders must be Bridges members, possess the qualities laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and be approved by the Elder Board and the congregation. Elders serve three-year terms and are limited to two consecutive terms.

We are happy to present to the congregation the following as candidates for elders:

• Michael Taylor (for a three-year term) — In addition to serving as Chair of the LACS School Board since 2023, Michael is a regular volunteer in our preschool on Sunday mornings. He is part of the Deeper Roots Life Group, and has previously volunteered in our nursery and elementary Sunday School.
• Stephen Lau (for a three-year term) — An active member of our Deeper Roots Life Group, Stephen has faithfully served in various areas at Bridges including our Deacon Board, MUCH Hope, KOK Children’s Choir, and events like Fall Family Fun and Night to Shine.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and this year we’re taking a moment to celebrate and encourage not only our pastors, but our entire Bridges staff who faithfully serve our church family all year long.

The Bridges congregation has been blessed once again this past year by the care, leadership, and dedication of our staff — God has been so good!

A fund is available for those who would like to express their appreciation financially. As you prayerfully decide how to direct your giving, we encourage you to consider to both our General Fund and the Staff Appreciation Fund. You can give via our giving page and choosing "Staff Appreciation" from the Fund dropdown menu.

A Celebration of Life for Peggy Simmons will be held on Sat., Oct. 3, at 11:00am in the Family Center, with a reception to follow. Please continue to remember the Simmons family in your prayers.

Mark your calendar for our annual Fall Family Fun on Fri., Oct. 30, 6:00-8:30pm! Join us as we partner with LACS to host this incredible, FREE night for the whole community right here on our campus. Get ready for food trucks, trunk-or-treating, a petting zoo, cupcake walk, and much more! Everyone of all ages is welcome.

Sign up now to help out in whatever way you're gifted and able! We have many areas where people of all ages can serve. We are also collecting individually wrapped candy and small toys throughout campus, so keep an eye out for our collection bins and drop off your donations there. Thanks for your participation!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Join us in Baja, Mexico, as we work once again with Baja Christian Ministries on MLK Weekend, Jan. 14-18, 2027. We will be building one or more houses and conducting outreach events in the Rosarito-Tecate area. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to participate in the trip. Want to learn more or sign up? Come to our interest meeting on Sun., Oct. 4, at 12:15pm in the Student Ministry Center.

Join MUCH Hope as they serve local homeless at a shelter in San Jose by providing monthly dinners. Lots of help is needed whether it's for 30 minutes or 2 hours! Volunteer to drop off supplies at Bridges, or help cook in the Bridges kitchen on a designated Sunday. For questions, email sujana.panthulu@gmail.com.

Giving for General Fund and NEXT85 will be monthly with data through the prior month end. The change simplifies the work for our team and gives time to provide reporting on both our General Fund Operations and NEXT85 program. Giving comes in several forms and needs to be sorted out appropriately with enough time to provide accurate information. Thank you for giving to the Kingdom work here at Bridges.
