Serving the Communities of Bridgewater Township and Raritan Borough
Dear Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District,
As we enter the Month of October, I would like to keep the district stakeholders informed of the significant happenings throughout our district.
Construction projects are continuing, with our summer projects complete or nearing completion. Most apparent was the reopening of the Basilone Complex for our first home football game this past Friday. Interior work at the fieldhouse is complete, with the exterior nearing significant completion in the next few weeks. The football team did not get the result they were hoping for, but it was uplifting to see fans in the seats cheering on our team.
Media center upgrades at our primary, intermediate, and middle schools are complete, thus creating a true learning hub for all students in our district. These updates provided a much-needed facelift and a source of pride for our students and faculty.
October 7-11 is the Week of Respect for all public schools in the State of New Jersey. The Week of Respect allows school districts to recognize the importance of social and emotional learning (SEL) while emphasizing age-appropriate instruction that focuses on preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB). I ask all parents to please have ongoing conversations with their children about promoting positive behaviors amongst students in our schools. Please be on the lookout for activities specific to this statewide initiative from your student’s home school. We must work together to promote a healthy school climate, and the Week of Respect provides the opportunity for us to reinforce this initiative.
Warm Regards,
Robert Beers
Superintendent of Schools

Kindergarten Pilot Program
The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School district is excited to announce that a Full-Day Kindergarten Pilot Program will be delivered in time for the 2025-2026 school year at our Title I schools, Adamsville Primary School and JFK Primary School. Full-day kindergarten will provide the opportunity to optimize conditions to support our students' academic, social, and emotional well-being through developmentally appropriate practices.
All kindergarten students in the Adamsville and JFK homeschool areas will be able to attend. This pilot will ensure that the facilities, materials, schedules, curriculum, instructional program, and staffing are ready for a successful district-wide launch in 2026-2027. High-quality full-day kindergarten programs lay the foundation for creating positive, engaging, and rich experiences for our youngest learners. We are thrilled to kick off these programs next year!

Basilone Field Grand Re-Opening
The stands at Basilone Field were full on Friday, September 27, for the high school pep rally and for the first home game of the football season. The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Panthers took on the Ridge High School Red Devils in the first game at the newly renovated Basilone Complex.
During the Spring and Summer of 2024, the fieldhouse and promenade were renovated via funding from the District Referendum. HVAC systems, roofing, plumbing, and renovations to every room in the facility have been completed. A restroom facility has also been added and will be completed within the next month. Finally, the parking lot and entrances have been updated, including new concrete, pavement, lighting, and drainage.
The District is planning a reopening ceremony on Friday, October 25, prior to the football game with Phillipsburg High School. Please be on the lookout for additional information

A new chapter has been written in the BRRSD: Refurbished Media Centers! |
Students in 10 of our schools will have access to new, improved media centers as the renovations are complete. All seven primary schools, two intermediate schools, and the middle school received facelifts over the last two summers. Our goal is to make our media centers the hub of learning for the entire school community by updating floor plans and adding comfortable seating, creating an optimal environment for our students and faculty.
