As we gear up for the 2024/25 school year, we are excited to welcome the 8,000 students who call Bridgewater-Raritan home. Our district is committed to unlocking the full potential of every student by providing a myriad of academic programs that meet the needs of our diverse student body. I encourage you to become an active part of our school community—attend back-to-school nights, and take advantage of the many programs we offer throughout the year.

As you visit our schools, you'll notice the improvements made through our district referendum. We've updated multiple facilities to enhance the learning environment, safety, and security for all students. You can find more details about these upgrades later in this newsletter. Tireless work continued throughout the dog days of summer at numerous buildings and sites in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District. Multiple projects have been completed for the start of the school year. The projects listed below are a result of the BRRSD Referendum that was approved by our communities in 2023. We are just getting started, so please stay tuned as we keep you posted throughout the process.

District Goals 2024/25

On Tuesday, August 27, the BRRSD Board of Education will evaluate and vote on the district's goals for 2024/25. The district goals were gleaned from the strategic planning committee that met during the winter and spring of 2024. As a district, we are committed to continuous improvement, and our culture is a constant pursuit of excellence.

Student Experience: To create a culture emphasizing student achievement, diversity, and inclusion. Promote opportunities that enable students to become active citizens and contributing members of society.

Climate and Culture: To develop, support, and cultivate the whole child and the diverse nature of our district by further enhancing a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Finance/Facilities: To create an optimal learning environment for our students, we will develop a culture of pride, ownership, and accountability in our facilities.

Communications, Community Outreach, and Engagement: Enhance communications with the community and develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations to benefit our students and parents.

Cell Phone Free School Zone

This year, one of our critical initiatives for K-12 is to foster a cell phone-free instructional environment, and we need your support.

Research has demonstrated the negative impact of cell phone use on students' learning and social interactions. We can create an environment that fosters academic excellence and social-emotional development.

Please join us in creating a healthier and more productive school environment for all our students by keeping electronic devices at home and encouraging our older students to put away their devices during the school day.

This cell phone-free environment includes earpods, smartwatches, and other wearable devices.
