Our economy is quickly changing, and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are on the rise. Unfortunately, Latinx and African American people are underrepresented in these fields.
We want to change that: our vision for the STEM academic program at Envision is to increase widespread quantitative and scientific literacy, enabling college and career readiness for all our graduates. We seek to ensure that all of our students have access to exciting STEM careers and that there is a diverse group of innovators working in STEM to build a better future for us all.
STEP ONE: On February 11th, we are hosting the Broadening Access to the STEM Pipeline Round Table, bringing together industry professionals and teachers, students, and families from within and beyond Envision. The aim of this important dialogue is to help bridge the gap between the STEM industry and the BIPOC community. This Zoom-hosted conversation will also serve to inform students, families, and teachers about the knowledge and skills students need for these fields.
We hope to see you there!
