The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Wiley invite applications for the editorship of International Migration. The journal is a refereed, scientific journal on migration issues as analyzed by demographers, geographers, economists, sociologists, political scientists and other social scientists from all parts of the world.

Prof Nicola Piper's presentation discussed global and regional governance of migration from the perspective of migrant rights activists and their strategies in advancing a rights-based framework in relation to key migration corridors in Asia. Watch the presentation here.

In his presentation, Dr. Korkmaz examined the extent to which data-driven innovation and new technologies can empower people on the move by looking at decision-making processes by the UN, donor countries, and NGOs as well as the role of global tech corporations in development studies, and insights from the surveillance-survival strategies debate. The International Metropolis Conference was held in Ottawa, Canada in June 2019. IOM's head of research, Marie McAuliffe, presented at the Conference. All plenary presentations can be found here.

The latest Issue focuses on various topics, including: migration and its drivers, risks and rewards; re‐thinking transnationalism in the global world; and migration governance and policy in the global south.

IOM Research Libya has announced two calls for proposals. These include 'mapping and profiling Libyans as potential migrants and migrants in Libya' and 'assessing the migration governance capacities of Libya and selected countries of origin'. The two calls can be found here. The deadline for submission has been extended to 30 August 2019.
