A New Frontier for

Bright Futures Students

Isabel (L) and Kenia will soon make Bright Futures history!

“I have always wanted to visit Japan. I told myself I’d study there... and when I actually got accepted, my mom and I started crying in shock."

- Kenia Ramirez

Isabel Reyna Nunez and Kenia Ramirez are poised to become the first BF students to pursue their college education on a different continent.

On August 17, the best friends boarded a flight to Japan to start classes at Temple University in Tokyo.

Between the two of them, they've earned at least a dozen scholarships to help pay their way through school!

"This world is so big. How could I not be drawn to visit every place I can?"

A Generational Return on Investment

Bright Futures donors have a staggering and far-reaching impact.

Your investments have led to:

  • A 100% college acceptance rate for BF/Dream Big students,
  • a 74% college progression rate, and
  • a 50% college graduation rate (more than double the national average)!
  • Awarded $150,000 in Bright Futures scholarships this year!

Expanded Access: Year Two

Bright Futures kicks off its second year of expanded program access this month.

With a goal to ensure every first-gen student at PCHS has a path to post-high school success, the expansion has already exceeded expectations.

--> There was a 133% increase in first-gen student participation:

  • 100 students participated in 2024/25
  • 233 participated in 2025/26

--> And a 90% increase in parent participation!

238 first-gen students will start classes at PCHS this month. As the number of students served by BF increases, positive donor impact grows, too.

Your support ensures Bright Futures will change lives for generations to come.

What is PCEF's Bright Futures Program?

From Dreams to Degrees: Helping First-Generation Students Succeed Beyond High School

Bright Futures is a comprehensive, multi-year program that equips first-generation students with the full spectrum of “college knowledge” so they can get to - and through! – college and career education.

We walk alongside these motivated students from classroom to campus, starting in 9th grade.

Nationwide - just 24% of first-gen college students make it to the graduation finish line. Bright Futures goal is to change those odds for Park City students.

Your generosity is an investment into our future: it changes students' lives and economic outcomes for generations to come.

First Generation Support at PCHS

Through Bright Futures and the counselors, teachers and programming at PCHS, a full spectrum of support is provided for students who are the first in their families to go to college.

Dream Big and Bright Futures work hand in hand. Dream Big is an award winning year-round PCHS curriculum preparing students for the academic rigor of AP classes, college concurrent enrollment classes, and the ACT.

The Latinos in Action classes from 6th-12th grade teach leadership and community service skills, focusing on the strength of students' bilingual capabilities and multicultural experiences.
