Greetings!

We recognize that some of our members continue to experience challenges with the BrightMLS system. On Thursday, March 8, representatives from NVAR, DAAR, PWAR, FAAR, and GP Realtors® met with BrightMLS CEO Tom Phillips, Chief Strategy Officer David Charron, and Communications Director Sharon Lukens. BrightMLS leaders acknowledged the challenges that our member subscribers are experiencing, and explained their efforts to remedy them.

To improve communication with subscribers about these issues and anticipated future changes, they offered the following:

  • BrightMLS will provide advance notification to each association about significant policy or software changes before they are rolled out. This will enable us to prepare members for anticipated service interruptions.

  • BrightMLS is focusing on improved social media engagement to be more responsive and proactive online.

  • The conversion of the MRIS and TREND systems into the new BrightMLS platform will not occur until a smooth transition can be ensured. The foundation of the new BrightMLS system is Matrix, a system that is already familiar to our MRIS subscriber members. New and innovative features, including flood plan maps, deed and mortgage data, and commuter time calculations, are planned once the transition has been fully completed.

NVAR will continue to work closely with BrightMLS to keep lines of communication open. We welcome your feedback, and anticipate an improved system that ultimately will be beneficial to your business.

We encourage you to connect with BrightMLS on social media to receive the latest updates. Also, you may contact BrightMLS directly:
