MLK Family Day of Service
January 2021

MLK Day is a time when we come together to volunteer and give back. This year, you might want to start a new tradition with a Family Day of Service.

Reach out to us to customize Take Home Service Projects for your family. This is a great opportunity to teach your children about food insecurity, homelessness or issues in the elderly community. We are happy to customize a project to fit your family's needs.
National Soup Month

Nothing drives away those chilly winter blues like a hot bowl of your favorite soup. Here are some suggestions on how to celebrate National Soup Month!

·      Volunteer as a family at a local soup kitchen.

·      Share and exchange recipes with friends and family.

·      Pick up some cans of soup on your next grocery run. Drop off your donations to area food banks. (Pop top cans are a good idea in case the recipient doesn't have a can opener)

·      Check out this YouTube on Andy Warhol's 1962 canvas pop art 'Campbells Soup Cans'
National Oatmeal Month

As temperatures dip and we all feel like hibernating til Spring, January is the perfect time to think oatmeal! January is National Oatmeal Month. Here are some fun ways to celebrate!

·      Bake a batch of oatmeal cookies. Click here for some oatmeal treat recipes.

·      Ask us about purchasing a Morning Munchies project benefiting Meals on Wheels recipients.

·      Donate oatmeal to local food pantries. It warms the soul and provides much needed nutrients.
