Santa Claus is in town! Visit him at his workshop (8305 Park View Blvd.) on one of these upcoming dates:

Bring your pack to Santa's Workshop (8305 Park View Blvd.) for Santa Paws.


Saturday, December 3, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.


Come enjoy a free dog treat and get a pet photo with Santa. Please consider bringing a donation (pet food or people food) for the Tri-City Food Pantry.

You're invited to support the Tri-City Food Pantry with donations of Hamburger Helper, Chicken Helper and Tuna Helper during the City of La Vista's food drive.

An after-hours party just for teens

On Friday, December 9, the Library will hold a Teen Winter Ball. An indoor snowball fight, ice sculpture contest, Just Dance competition and more festivities are planned. Plus, there will be plenty of teen-approved snacks.

Last call for basketball

Registration Deadline: December 5


The final day to register for basketball leagues for boys and girls in grades 3-8 is December 5


Practices and games begin in January. Volunteer coaches are needed! Sign up today.


Teams participate with the Sarpy Community YMCA and games are typically played on Saturdays/Sundays at several locations in the La Vista/Papillion area.

Registration is open for the coed youth basketball clinic for 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls.

The basketball clinic is comprised of five one-hour sessions to be held on Saturday mornings from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Community Center. Clinics tentatively start on January 14.

Join us Tuesdays and Thursdays,10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

La Vista Community Center Gym, 8116 Park View Blvd.

Playtime is FREE!


Zip around the gym, jump and play with others! Play equipment provided.


On the second Thursday of each month, special activities and a short storytime will take place during the first hour of preschool playtime. Upcoming activities include:

  • Duck, Duck, Goose - January 12, 10 a.m.
  • Freeze Tag - February 9, 10 a.m.

The La Vista Senior Center is offering two nights of holiday lights tours.


  • Wednesday, December 7, 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 8, 5:30 p.m.


Space is limited and RSVP required. Registration begins December 1.

Christmas Potluck with Mayor Kindig

The La Vista Senior Center will host a Christmas Potluck with Mayor Kindig on Tuesday, December 20, at 11:30 a.m.


You must register in advance to attend this popular event. Space is limited. Register by December 13.


The main dish will be provided. Please bring something to share. Attendees whose last name starts with A-O are encouraged to bring a side, while those whose name starts with P-Z are asked to bring a dessert.
