Two Massachusetts PTA Local Units Celebrating and Embracing the Magic of the Season and Sharing it with everyone!

The Middleborough Mary K Goode PTA celebrated their families this year with a free and inclusive holiday event. Families were invited to travel through the halls visiting winter holidays around the world. Focusing on Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and the Chinese New Year attendees explored the traditions behind each holiday.

Upon arrival every child was given a bag to collect their trinkets in each room. From Chinese good luck golden coins to wooden dredils every student left with new traditions to share with their families for years to come. This event was organized and supported by the PTA, however it would be have been possible without the MKG staff who manned the holiday rooms.

The Mary K Goode PTA had an amazing response from their families in attendance and already started to plans next year's event. Celebrating diversity in holidays is important to MKG PTA because it fosters inclusion, promotes understanding of different cultures and traditions, builds our community by allowing people to share their traditions and is a valuable learning experience. We will continue to thrive to, together with our community, build a safer tomorrow for our youth! Featured in our photos is Brennan, 2nd grader, one hand his new dreidel and in the other a Kinara. You'll also see feature art projects made by students in the Diwali room, friends sharing a Kwanzaa story, students crafting and writing their letters to Santa, a family engaged in an intense round of the Dreidel game and the MKG PTA board.

The Indian Brook PTA in Plymouth , worked extremely hard to put on events for their kids and families during the holiday season. A few MA PTA Leadership Team had the pleasure of attending one at Indian Brook PTA, themed after The Polar Express. It was a real Polar Express Train right at the school, the whole school was transformed into the Polar Express with all of the Spectacular Story all told in Real time in their School. The Children, the Parents , the Educators, the community and the MA PTA all attended! The President for Indian Brook PTA in Plymouth is Angela Costa. Check out their Facebook as well as the MA PTA's Facebook pages!

If you have an event you want to share please let us know!

We want to always Celebrate and Acknowledge

all the Dedication our Local MA PTA Units Accomplish!

Educate, Advocate and Share Together !

It is so hard to believe we are nearing the end of 2024!

We have so much to be thankful for and so many great actions to

look forward to in the New Year! I would like to give you a follow up on a Program I mentioned last month.

The Emergency Services Altered Response Program

has partnered with one of the greatest Autism Foundations, The Doug Flutie Foundation!

Ptrm. Aaron Swartz of Dighton was able to partner with the

Doug Flute Organization for sponsorship and guidance as his vision of The Emergency Services Altered Response Program is set into place to allow officers to recognize any individual with disabilities upon immediate interaction to either a call, residence, automobile accident or a runaway, even an adult with Alzheimer's.

The key factor to this program is that "all information is voluntary".

A family member must be the one to register their individual into

the police data base as a person that would need The Emergency Services Altered Response Program.

For further information you may email Patrolman Aaron Swartz at

aswartz@dighton-ma.gov.

Happy Holidays!

I look forward to collaborating with all of you in 2025

2025 Immunization Schedules

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published the 2025 child/adolescent and adult immunization schedules. Web-based, pdf (child/adolescent and adult) and app versions of the schedule are available.

A summary of 2025 immunization schedule updates and guidance can be found here.

Earlier availability of the 2025 Immunization Schedules is part of CDC’s effort to better support immunization professionals and to improve timely implementation of new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations. The 2025 schedules are effective immediately, and you do not need to wait until January 1, 2025, for the schedules to go into effect.

Parent and patient-friendly schedules can be found here.

Vaccine Catch-Up Guidance

CDC has developed catch-up guidance job aids to assist healthcare providers in interpreting Table 2 of the child and adolescent immunization schedule. The job aids can be found here (scroll down on the webpage to “Vaccine Catch-Up Guidance”).
