A Caring Place

A Caring Place Adult Day Services is deeply rooted in the community and prides itself on a commitment to faith, compassion, and services. There is a special focus within our program to treat each person with respect and dignity for the individuals to feel valued and supported.

One of the highlights of the A Caring Place program is the wide range of activities offered to participants. These activities are designed to stimulate the mind, improve cognitive function, and promote physical health. From arts and crafts to music therapy, exercise sessions, and games, the program offers something for everyone. Additionally, the activities are designed to accommodate a variety of abilities, ensuring that each participant can actively engage in ways that are both enjoyable and beneficial for their health.

Recently, A Caring Place has introduced interactive music therapy sessions, where participants get involved with instruments, singing, and even dancing! These sessions are designed to boost mood, enhance cognitive function, and provide a fun, social experience. Participants have enjoyed exploring different genres of music, sharing their favorite songs, and engaging in lively sing-alongs that brighten everyone’s day.

With a focus on fun, creativity, and connection, A Caring Place continues to provide a vibrant and dynamic environment for our clients. Whether it’s through music, arts and crafts, or fitness, the program ensures that every participant has a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. We are dedicated to making each day at A Caring Place a memorable one, full of fun updates and meaningful moments that enrich the lives of everyone involved.

Crisis Office

As we welcome the warmth and blooms of spring, the Crisis Office is not only busy switching out winter coats and hats for jackets. We are also overhauling our pantries thanks to a generous grant from Gleaners. With this funding, the Crisis Office could purchase more fridges and freezers for the food pantry and more storage racks for the children's clothing in the clothing pantry.

Many of our volunteers, particularly the lead volunteer over the clothing pantry, Mary Sturm, along with the assistance of CCI’s maintenance crew, are working hard to pack up the winter clothes, build new racks, and rearrange the clothing pantry to make more efficient use of the space. The Crisis Office is so grateful for their devoted service and the many donations that help dress those in need.

As the inventory in the clothing pantry is getting a new organization system, it's been discovered that there is a great need for children’s summer clothes. Donations can be made at the Crisis Office during operating hours.

Christmas Store

The spirit of giving was alive and well at the Catholic Charities Christmas Store this past holiday season. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to provide gifts, household essentials, and a sense of hope to 750 families in need.

For many families facing financial hardships, the Christmas season can be especially difficult. The Christmas Store helps ensure that parents can provide gifts for their children, allowing them to experience the joy and magic of Christmas.

This incredible effort would not be possible without the many volunteers who gave their time to stock shelves, shop for families, and assist with loading gifts into family vehicles. Their dedication and compassion made the Christmas Store a place of joy and dignity for all who walked through its doors.

We are also grateful for the many donors who contributed gifts and financial support, ensuring that we had enough items to meet the needs of every family who came to us for help.

Endowment Funds Impact Charities

Today and Forever

Donors sometimes question whether they should support an endowment fund over an annual gift, thinking the latter will provide immediate support for the ministry they love. The truth is that both are important. Gifts for today and tomorrow help maintain the financial health of any one of our parishes, schools or ministries. Endowment funds can do both.

An endowment fund is perpetual. Establishing an endowment fund during your life or after your passing helps provide financial support for a charity forever. The principal of the fund is never touched. As the fund is invested, it grows. Each year, our Catholic Community Foundation endowment funds distribute 5% of their value to parishes, schools and ministries. In fact, in fiscal year 2024, we distributed more than $10 million to Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese.

You can impact the future of the Catholic cause of your choice. To learn more about endowment funds, please contact us at 317-236-1482 or ccf@archindy.org.
