Faculty Spotlight
Jodi Schoenhaus, RPHs, FACFAS

Lecture: “Skin Manifestations of Venous Disease”
After graduating from the University of Michigan, where she studied kinesiology and human movement, Dr. Schoenhaus went to Temple University in Philadelphia where she got her doctorate. She also completed her residency in foot and ankle reconstructive surgeries and residency in Philadelphia.

After completing her training and establishing a scientific foundation based on biomechanics, reconstructive surgery, and research she moved to South Florida and in 2005 opened the Foot, Ankle & Leg Vein Center.

Dr. Schoenhaus is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in foot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction. She is also a certified ultrasound sonographer for vascular imaging.

Dr. Schoenhaus is proficient in laser mechanics/techniques and is a published author, speaker and educator. She has trained residents and has held preceptorships educating other doctors using her unique skills. She specializes in atrophy which can cause diabetic ulcerations and extreme pain/discomfort while walking.

She has performed FDA-approved research in her field using dermal fillers, fat grafting and fat transferring. Her background in foot and ankle surgery and wound care has helped her establish a program addressing venous insufficiency, ulcerations and the treatment of varicose veins. Her vein clinic in South Florida offers one of the most extensive programs for patients suffering from chronic venous insufficiency.

Dr. Lowell graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio in May of 2001. After three years of surgical training at the Cleveland VA, she became a full time staff member. She currently serves as the VA Site Director for Mercy Health Regional Medical Center PMSR/RRA program. Dr. Lowell is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Lowell’s non-VA endeavors include being the Chair for COTH, President of the PRR board and CPME ad hoc 320 member, as well as an on-site evaluator. She serves as a member of the National Field Advisory Committee.
