ABOUT OUR TOUR

Separate tours of two museums: first the American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol followed by the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury.

During the 1800’s Connecticut was the clockmaking center of the United States and the clock museum documents this rich history from the early 1800’s through the mid 1900’s, with an extensive collection of timepieces from that timespan. Docent-led tour will discuss how this industry grew and flourished.

After a lunch break near the Bristol Clock Museum we will drive to the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury which has a collection of art and cultural history pieces focused on the Naugatuck valley area and the artists of Connecticut. This will be free-roaming visit at the museum with the possibility of engaging a docent onsite for a group of 10+.
