British Trials Championship - Round 3
Richmond - North Yorkshire

The MRS Sherco team were out in force at the Richmond & DMC British Championship held at Low Row, Nr. Reeth, North Yorkshire on Sunday, 9th June.
Having a near faultless ride was 20-year-old MRS Sherco rider Richard Sadler who put in a fantastic score of 29 to finish in fourth place, just one point off the third placed rider. Now into his eighth year of riding for Sherco, MRS are absolutely delighted to see Richard get the result he so fully deserves. He has been an extremely loyal member of the team and this loyalty has finally paid off. Riding on a new two year deal Richard is at home and comfortable on his new 300 model Sherco.
Richard Sadler - "This is without doubt the best ride I have ever had in my life. Everything went to plan and the bike ran perfect all day. I am over the moon to be able to do this in front on my home crowd and want to thank everyone who came out to support me today. I would also like to say a massive thank you to all my team sponsors and in particular Malcolm and Rhoda at MRS, all the members of the Richmond Motor Cycle Club for putting on such a great event and AG (Andrew Brown) for all his hard work. Special thanks must go to my dad who has always been there for me throughout my riding career, he is my greatest critic but also my biggest support!"
In 10th place was MRS Sherco rider Gary Macdonald who was actually riding his first British Championship trial of the year. Unfortunately this went against him on the day as he pulled out the first number in the championship class. Gary could never fully recover from his first lap of 27 but followed this with laps of 12 and 13 which he was very happy with. Gary will be riding the last British Championship trial in the Lakes so should be in with a good chance with a better starting number.
In 12th place was James Fry who expected a better result on the day but he did manage to put in a very good last lap of 10 adding to his first and second laps of 24 and 23.
In 14th place was Yeovil rider Ricky Wiggins who did not get to grips with the terrain on the day with laps of 25, 18 and 18 but with his continued determination we are sure he will bring in the result he is looking for by the end of the year. Chris Pearson came in 19th and Luke Walker 21st.
In the Expert Class Darren Brice once again put in a masterful display to win overall and with two wins out of three and a second place Darren leads the class by 11 marks from his nearest opposition.
Darren Brice - "This was a really well organised event, the Richmond Motor Club did a great job. The sections were spot on for the expert class. The first lap was very slippery and greasy before the sun came out so it was really important that I rode the best I could on lap one. As it was a low scoring trial it was a battle of nerves from then on. I rode steady all day with no major mistakes or 5's which I think helped seal the win. Thanks of course to Malcolm and Rhoda and Neil at D3 for all their help and support."
Josh Woods had a brilliant ride to finish in 6th place overall and with this result he has now moved into 6th in the standings. Tom Affleck did not manage to pull off his usual result and finished in 9th place but with his previous form in the championship he is lying in 3rd place in the overall standings.
Recovering from a badly broken leg in last year's Scott Trial local rider Matt Maynard had an extremely good ride to finish in 14th place. Emma Bristow was disappointed with her 16th place but with the tough, long sections at Richmond this has set her up nicely for the forthcoming World Championship this weekend in Andorra.
In the Youth Class the ever improving MRS Sherco rider James Stones had an extremely good ride to finish 2nd just two marks off the winner and 13 marks in front of third placed man. This score would actually have put him in 4th position in the Expert Championship Class.
This was the first Adult British Championship the Richmond Club had put on and with all their experience they put on a fantastic event in what must be one of the best areas in the UK for trials. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their day riding natural, flowing sections and credit must be given to all the Richmond Club and, in particular, Andrew Brown for pulling off such a successful British Championship.
