Broadband Grant Portal Reopened and Last Mile Federal Funding Account Round 2 Deadline Extended

Last mile Federal Funding Account and Local Agency Technical Assistance stakeholders—


The Broadband Grant Portal has re-opened.


Federal Funding Account Round 2. Applicants may submit Federal Funding Account Round 2 applications until Monday, June 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. 

  • The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) limited opportunity to submit last mile Federal Funding Account applications in six counties: Calaveras, Contra Costa, Inyo, Monterey, Orange, and Trinity reopened on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
  • Applications may only be submitted through the Broadband Grant Portal.
  • A notice following the close of the application window will provide more information on the timing and process for objections, applicant responses to objections, and the submission of data in support of these filings.


Grant Administration. Last mile Federal Funding Account (FFA) and Local Agency Technical Assistance (LATA) awardees can submit:

  • reports
  • payment requests, and 
  • other grant implementation activities.


Reports or other filings due while the Broadband Grant Portal was temporarily closed will not be considered late. Please see program specific deadlines on the Federal Funding Account Awardee Resources and Local Agency Technical Assistance webpages.
