The Affordable Connectivity Program provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

While we [Maine Broadband Coalition] applaud this administration for prioritizing the ACP, this critical tool in the struggle to close the digital divide once and for all still does not have its forever home."

BEAD: THREE CHALLENGES FOR 2024

Gigi Sohn, one of the nation’s leading public advocates for open, affordable and democratic communications networks, was the keynote speaker at the 5th-Annual(ish) Maine Broadband Summit held on November 15.

Ms. Sohn addressed three challenges that all states, including Maine, will face and suggested how states can meet these challenges to ensure that this once-in-a-lifetime funding secures fast, affordable and reliable broadband Internet access for every US household.
