COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS

A Year in Review

After their first year at Broadreach, Emma and Cassandra sat down for a reflective Q&A

Emma Kristoffy, Client Associate

Q: When did you feel most connected to Broadreach's mission or values?

A: Broadreach has a set of values that we are constantly reminding ourselves and each other of: Intellectual Curiosity & Critical Thinking; Candor; Make "it" Happen; and Team Pride. Prior to joining Broadreach, I was familiar with all these ideas, but I hadn’t been in an office space that truly puts them into action.

All these values became clear at our weekly Client Relations team meetings. I was impressed at how clearly everyone communicated, how the team handled difficult conversations, supported one another, and helped one another out with client-related questions. I learned how to jump in on these conversations and found myself sharing these values with my colleagues!

Q: What’s a PR skill you’ve built this year that you’re especially proud of?

A: I am proud of building my event and project management skills. I learned all the steps it takes to bring an event to life, from planning a time and location to coordinating vendors and speakers, pitching the event for news coverage, preparing press releases, and making event morning calls to the media, and handling coverage at the event. I found myself not only building this skill but truly enjoying it. It was so rewarding to see the positive reactions from clients and event attendees!

Q: If you had to describe your first year in PR in just three words, what would they be?

A: Curiosity, confidence, teamwork

Cassandra Chabot, Client Associate

Q: What’s one thing that always brightens your workday at Broadreach?

A: Seeing the office dogs has consistently been a highlight over the past year – having animals around leads to some pretty memorable moments.

I also appreciate our open-concept office, which makes it easy to collaborate with colleagues. The layout encourages teamwork. It lets us ask a quick question, brainstorm ideas, or talk through a challenge, and feel like support is always just a few steps away. I have never been so comfortable going to my peers for guidance, and it’s a wonderful feeling knowing everyone is available to help.

Q: What are you most excited to learn or try in your second year?

A: I'm excited to continue growing as a professional. Broadreach always supports personal development, and we constantly have opportunities to improve our abilities both on our own and together as a team. I'm eager to build my networking skills. It can feel intimidating to put yourself out there, but meeting new people is rewarding, and you never know what opportunities might come from forming connections.

I’m also looking forward to exploring how social media and public relations intersect. As the media landscape constantly evolves, online platforms are becoming increasingly important. I’m especially curious about how organic social media might increasingly play a role similar to traditional news coverage, and the ways it can help foster a sense of community.

Q: If you had to describe your first year in PR in just three words, what would they be?

A: Challenging, rewarding, and collaborative

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

How to Keep a Change from Becoming a Crisis

Major organizational changes don’t have to turn into crises if they’re handled with clarity, candor, and context. In an article originally published in Mainebiz, Linda explains how thoughtful communication, honest language, and attention to people’s concerns can help leaders manage change while protecting trust and reputation.

New Year's Resolutions

Check out what we aspire to accomplish this year!

In a 2024 Forbes Health survey, it was revealed that keeping a New Year resolution only lasts between two to four months. We're happy to say our team is working hard to make sure we meet our professional goals and our personal goals - and we're still on track!

  • Jen - Connect with people in concrete ways: in-person, on walks, over coffee, through hand-written letters and real live phone conversations. In these digitized times, those visceral contacts have never felt more meaningful.
  • Paula - I'm anti-New Year resolution! Why wait for the new year if you want to change something?
  • Cassandra - I hope to make more time to be creative and spend time around art!
  • Chance - Write more fiction! Once I became a journalist and then got into PR, I stopped writing creative content.
  • Autumn - Explore more hiking trails in southern Maine with my dog, Winnie! The area has so many hidden gems and it's the perfect way to get outside more.
  • Emma - My New Year's resolution is to volunteer and give back to the community more often. My 2025 had a lot of self-growth and this year I want to focus on others!
  • Hannah - I have a goal to read 25 books this year and have a "craft" night once a month. I am working on finding more opportunities away from screens and embracing more creativity!
  • Linda - My New Year's resolution was to find balance in my life and to focus on good health and self-care!
  • Josiah - My resolution in 2026 is to be more mindful and present with my family. Kids grow up too fast - it's so important to enjoy the time you have with loved ones.
