State Route 82 Widening Project Update
Above is a rendering of what the completed project could look like.
Construction under way, to last through 2021
You've probably seen lots of utility movement along Route 82 over the past few months, as traffic continues to grind. Currently, preparation is taking place for the physical widening to begin to occur in April 2019. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming project:

  1. Route 82 will be widened to 5 lanes (two lanes in each direction and a center turning lane), from Ken Mar Industrial Parkway to Town Center Drive. There will also be a 8' all-purpose trail added on the northern side of the road and a sidewalk added to the south. Trees will also be added to both side of the street.
  2. Utilities are being moved now, and construction is slated to last from April 2019 to September 2021.
  3. Construction is currently planned to begin near Town Center Drive and will move eastward along Route 82.
  4. During construction, two way traffic will be maintained at all times.

State Route 82 is a vital connector to the ongoing respectful, responsible development of our community. We will continue to bring you status updates on this project as they evolve. We appreciate your patience as we work to better the City of Broadview Heights.
