Dear Neighbors and Friends,
Last week, I had the joy of spending my morning at the Broadview Freedom School for the community read aloud. Promoting literacy continues to be a top priority and just 15 minutes of reading a day can truly make a lifelong difference.
I had the honor of reading “In the Middle” by Ebonee Jones, a talented educator from Lindop School. It’s a powerful story that deserves a place in every library uplifting, inspiring, and filled with heart.
As we approach the Broadview Freedom School Finale, I encourage the entire community to come out and see the impact for yourselves. Our scholars have been doing incredible work in the classroom, and many of them are preparing to head off to college this fall. Witnessing their growth firsthand is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Together, Broadview, we are investing in the next generation, and it’s making a difference. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming Broadview Young Scholar Program.
Love and Kindness,
Mayor Katrina Thompson
