Greetings Friends and Neighbors,
This year marks an incredible milestone, the Village of Broadview’s 110th Birthday! We are proud to celebrate more than a century of history, progress, and community spirit.
Please join us on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Schroeder Park as we come together to honor the journey of our beloved village. The evening will begin with a vibrant parade led by the world-renowned Proviso East Band, stepping off from the Broadview Fire Department at 5:45 p.m.
Over the years, Broadview has achieved many milestones:
- Incorporated in 1914, Broadview grew from a small residential community into a thriving village.
- The establishment of our Fire and Police Departments ensured the safety and well-being of our residents.
- The development of Roosevelt Road and our business corridors attracted new commerce and investment.
- We've made significant infrastructure improvements and sustainability strides under the Cross Community Climate Collaborative (C4).
- Most recently, we launched innovative programs like the Broadview Freedom School, Broadview Young Scholars, and numerous health and wellness initiatives to enrich our community.
As part of the celebration, residents who live near Schroeder Park should be advised that street closures will be in effect on June 20 - June 22, 2025. To ensure access, parking passes (two per household) will be available for pickup at Village Hall. No passes will be distributed on the day of the event, so we encourage early pickup.
Our celebration continues with Broadview’s 5th Annual Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, 2025. We are deeply honored to welcome His Royal Majesty Togbi Nyaho Tamakloe VI, Paramount Chief of the Anlo State in Ghana, West Africa, on Saturday. His visit is a profound tribute to our shared African heritage and a powerful symbol of unity between the African Diaspora and the continent.
Let’s come together to reflect on our history, embrace our future, and celebrate the heart of Broadview, our people.
Love and Kindness,
Mayor Katrina Thompson
