NEW IBERIA, La. -- The Iberia Performing Arts League will hold its annual fundraiser, "Broadway, Bites and Bubblies," on Friday, March 10, 2017, from 7 - 10 p.m. at the Shadows Bend home of Tommy and Mary Carol Leblanc.
Featured will be over 10 local guest chefs, as well as a signature drink, Old Fashions, and other bubblies. Cast members from current and previous IPAL productions will be on hand for entertainment. Tickets include food, drink, entertainment and other events scheduled for the evening. The fundraiser benefits the orchestra fund for IPAL's production of "Anything Goes."
According to director Vincent P. Barras, "The orchestra for this show and for all of our major spring musicals is critical. Cole Porter wrote this wonderful show, and both his lyrics and music are brilliant. IPAL uses professional musicians and their quality lifts the entire production to a high level. 'Broadway on the Bayou' truly is an apt description for this musical and this fundraiser is critical to keeping that level of quality."
It has been 12 years since IPAL began using a full orchestra in its musicals to compliment "Broadway on the Bayou." Each has been an overwhelming success and includes such favorites as "South Pacific," "Guys and Dolls," "Spamalot" and, recently, "Jesus Christ, Superstar."
