Friends,

On June 1, 2020 the Holston Conference COVID-19 Task Force released a plan, "Taking Steps Faithfully and Safely," for Holston churches to return to in-person worship. Since the roll out of this plan, the task force was made aware of some questions and concerns expressed by clergy and lay across the conference. On June 9, 2020 the task force reconvened to discuss these questions and concerns, and began working on a second edition of the plan.

After much discussion and several edits, the second edition is now ready for release. In this document you will find greater clarification on youth gatherings, Holy Communion, and steps to take if a COVID-19 case arises at your church.

Click on the button below to view the updated edition.

As with the first edition, the Holston COVID-19 Task Force and your District Superintendent will continue monitoring the current caseload within our conference area. As cases increase or decrease, additional changes may be made to the plan.

Sincerely,

Tim Jones

Let’s Support Those
on the Front Lines

During this unprecedented pandemic, we want to support those in our church family who are providing “essential services,” sometimes at great risk to themselves: healthcare workers, sanitation workers, those in the food industry, civil servants, community leaders, fire, police, ambulance services, National Guard, etc. If you qualify or know of someone, please send the name, occupation, and contact information (including telephone, email, and mailing address) to  [email protected] .

Also please email the office if you want to be part of the support team by making phone calls, sending cards, providing meals, running errands, etc.
