This Sunday's Sermon...
This Sunday, we will all enjoy a "two-fr" on messages!  In our in-person worship in the Outdoor Worship Area, Pastor Mark will offer a message, while Broadway Youth provide the music.
In our virtual worship, you can see some very creative and determined Broadway Youth who put together a Puppet Ministry presentation pre-COVID - and wanted to see it through!   Using Zoom and other tech tools, our Youth will present The Story of Jonah during our virtual worship, which will premiere at 10:30 AM on Sunday.

Sunday's Weather ... little_girl_in_rain.jpg
We are in the season of the "pop up" shower!  If you are unsure about the weather conditions for outdoor worship, just check the  Broadway website or the  Broadway Facebook page. A decision will be made by 9 AM. and posted.   Remember that we must also consider the safety of our technical crew, as they work with electric cabling and are in proximity to electrical equipment all morning!
Remember - the virtual worship service will also be available at 10:30 AM !
How We Will Worship Safely

Thank you to the volunteers and our COVID team who are keeping us all socially distanced, sanitized and masked during this unique time in our city, state, nation and world!
Please review the procedures below, bring a lawn chair and join us!
  • Worship will be held in the Outdoor Worship Area, following social distancing parameters.  Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating - the bench seating will be used for our worship team and musicians.
  • Masks or face coverings are requested while entering and exiting the worship area but can be removed when you are seated.  However, please wear your mask while singing or during responsive readings.
  • A limited supply of cloth face masks will be available, made by the loving hands of Broadway members.
  • There will be no adult, youth or children's Sunday School.
  • There will be no offering or provided communion. However, you may bring your own communion elements to share with family members.  An offering box will be available for donations.
  • CLC restrooms will be available.  There will be no access to the rest of the church.
  • In the event of rain, our outdoor worship will be canceled.
Virtual worship will continue each Sunday at 10:30 AM
until we can safely return to indoor worship.
Keeping You Informed...
MOM Keeps It Local for 2020 Mission...
Broadway Habitat Build Week of July 20 Habitat
The 2020 Adult Mission Trip had been planned for a return trip to El Salvador; however, things have changed.  Our MOM Vice-Chair, Wayne Dykstra, has found a great alternative much closer to home- building homes for Habitat for Humanity during the week of July 20!
The Habitat building sites are on Day Crew Loop (off Old Plank Road) in south Columbia.  We have four days reserved for Broadway's builders:
  • Monday, July 20
  • Wednesday, July 22
  • Friday, July 24
  • Saturday, July 25

Crew size is limited to 10 volunteers. There are 2 homes that will be under construction, which will allow for adequate social distancing during the build.  Each day's work begins at 8:30 AM and concludes at 4 PM.  Each workday has been divided into two shifts:  8:30 AM-12:30 PM, and 12:30 PM-4 PM.  Volunteers are welcome to sign up for as many shifts as you'd like, but we welcome single shifters too!

MOM has put together an online signup page for volunteers.  If you have any questions about the Build, please email Wayne Dykstra or contact Debby in the church office, 445.5312, extension 225.

Congregation Approves '20-'21 Budget
New Church Year Begins July 1 Front of church
Following our worship on June 14, Broadway members in attendance (and those who voted electronically), approved our '20-'21 Broadway operating budget.  Thanks to your generosity, budget requests for all ministry areas were filled!
As we enter into our new church year on July 1, Broadway will welcome new Board members and officers, and bid farewell to Board members who have fulfilled their terms of service to the church.  Thank you to all who have gifted Broadway with many hours of service and leadership!  For a complete listing of our outgoing and incoming Board members and officers, please refer to our 2019-2020 Annual Report.
Sunday Servant Schedules Are Ready! paper_people_chain.jpg
Yes, the Sunday Servant schedules are ready - and now we wait for the return of indoor worship!
Thank you to everyone who will serve as our ushers, welcomers, Deacons and Elders for the new church year beginning on July 1.  If you volunteered to serve on Sunday, but did not receive a schedule in your inbox, please contact   Ingrid.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer Shawls, Lap Robes and Hug Buddies are located in the display in the Narthex as well as in the basket in a lower cabinet in the large conference room.  If you deliver one, please note your name and the recipient on the clipboard in the cabinet where the extra shawls are stored.  Reusable shopping type bags with scripture printed on them are available for delivering the shawls, lap robes and hug buddies.   They are on the shelf below the shawl basket.  Our supply of shawls is somewhat limited, so if you knit or crochet and would like to create one, yarn can be made available to you.  Just call Dixie Lenau. 573-445-2431.  If you donate a shawl, please leave it beside or below the basket.  It will be blessed by one of the ministers before it is put in the basket and made available for delivery.
Our Fiscal Year Is Ending...
Please Review Your Pledge for 2019-2020
Broadway's fiscal year will end on June 30 and our new year with new pledges begins on July 1.  If you made a pledge for the current church year, which runs July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020 - please take a few minutes to review the status of your pledge.
As we prepare to close our current year's finances, please help us by making sure that you are up--to-date on your pledged giving.  If you have questions about your pledge, you can review your giving by visiting your online Realm account, or by contact Church Administrator  Ingrid Luckenbill.
