Broadway Weekly

This Sunday, April 14
Palm Sunday
Scripture:   Luke 19:28-40
Message:  Parade Enough

Palm Sunday
Broadway will remember Christ's arrival in Jerusalem with palm fronds and wonderful music at all worship services!  Palm Sunday is also a special day for our Baptism candidates, who have been exploring matters of faith in Pastor's Class since the beginning of the Lenten Season.
Maundy Thursday, April 18
We will remember the Last Supper and Christ's example of service and compassion on Maundy Thursday.  The worship will begin in our Fellowship Hall, with members of our Chancel Choir inviting us to partake of a variety of appetizers, before leading us into the Narthex and Sanctuary for worship.
Good Friday, April 19
Broadway's Good Friday activities will begin with a Fish Fry in Fellowship Hall, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The fish will be catered again by provided by Lutz's, and the cost is $12 per adult, which includes all the fish you care to eat, two sides, Lutz's homemade potato chips, hush puppies, beverages and dessert.
Good Friday worship will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will feature our Broadway Ensemble.
Easter Sunday, April 21
We will celebrate the Promise Fulfilled with our brothers and sisters around the world on Easter Sunday!  Expect glorious music, art and fellowship at our three worship services at 8:00, 9:00 and 11:15.  During the 10:10 Christian Education Hour, our children and their parents will be invited to join in Easter crafts and activities in our Christian Life Center!
And we can't forget the Brunch!  Broadway's Fellowship Ministry will once again offer a full Brunch menu, with breakfast casseroles (vegetarian and gluten-free options), biscuits and gravy, fruit salad, juice, milk and coffee.  All of that good food and fellowship for $5 per person, or a $20 family maximum.
It Is Habitat Time!!
Coming Up...
YOU HAVE FREE CHOICE. No longer are you required by law to give a tenth of all you earn. This is not to say that you should give less than a tenth, simply that you are not required to do so. Many Christians today give far more than a tenth. The Apostle Paul explains this in chapter 9, verses 6 through 8 of II Corinthians, the most personal of Paul's letters.

Paul had sent Titus to Corinth to (among other things) encourage the Christians there to give more freely, even sacrificially, and most of all to give cheerfully, Paul writes: "Remember this - Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should give what he/she has decided in his/her heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

This is one of the best explanations on giving you'll find. Paul says that your gift must come from the heart; that you give because you want to, not because you have to; that your rewards will be in direct proportion to what you give; that God favors those who give generously; and that God shows His pleasure by rewarding those who give with more than they need. Do you know of any human-made investment that pays dividends like these?

The rewards of giving are so tremendous that God makes sure we understand them. That way, we'll have marvelous spiritual truth.

Church Administrator Ingrid Lunckenbill will be available each Sunday during our Stewardship Emphasis to assist your with online giving or to answer questions regarding pledging a gift to Broadway.  Please call her at 445.5312 or contact her by email.
Puerto Rico Mission Trip Is October 20
Mission and Outreach Ministry's 2019 Adult Mission team will travel to Puerto Rico the week of October 20.  The team will focus their efforts on hurricane recovery - which will mean a lot of wall repair, flooring, paining and roofing.
Our team will stay in a local Disciples youth camp, so there will be bunk beds, showers and meals at the camp.  Check upcoming e-news articles for more details - or contact   Debby for more information.
