Mission Trip Sunday is August 30
Join us on Sunday, August 30, for a special Mission Trip Sunday as we celebrate the Broad Reach of Broadway!
At DayBreak at 8:00 a.m., Rise at 9:00 a.m., and Abide at 11:00 a.m., you’ll have the opportunity to hear from our own intergenerational Broadway missionaries who recently traveled to Guatemala. Together, they helped build TWO houses for families in need, sharing their time, talents, energy, and hearts along the way.
Our missionaries will help lead worship and share stories and reflections from their time in Guatemala. Come hear about the people they met, the work they accomplished, and the ways this experience reminded them of what it means to be the church beyond our walls.
Mission Trip Sunday is a chance to celebrate the Broad Reach of Broadway and the many ways our congregation shares our Broad Hearts and Broad Minds with our neighbors near and far.

Seasoned Spirits Tour Boone County Services
This week, 24 Seasoned Spirits enjoyed an educational and fascinating day exploring some of the services that help keep our Boone County community safe and prepared. The day began with a tour of the Boone County Joint Communications Center.
The center handles 911 and 311 calls, dispatches for EMS, fire, and law enforcement, monitors severe weather emergencies such as floods and tornadoes, provides public safety alerts, and supports emergency preparedness and response.
After the morning tour, they enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch at Smith Park, catered by COMO Smoke & Fire, before heading to the Boone County Sheriff’s Regional Law Enforcement Training Center.
The new facility, completed in January, provides advanced training for law enforcement officers frthroughout mid-Missouri and beyond. There was the opportunity to see self-defense training rooms, driving simulators, an indoor shooting range, situational training spaces with movable walls and mock homes, a mock jail cell, and a garage housing training and SWAT vehicles.
It was an informative and eye-opening day, giving our Seasoned Spirits a greater appreciation for the people, technology, training, and resources that work together to serve and protect our community.

Woodhaven Looking for Volunteers
Woodhaven has been in the Columbia community since 1964. They were first on a campus by Nifong Park serving children. In the 1990’s they moved off campus to individual homes to be part of the community of Columbia. The individuals, now adults, continue to be served by Woodhaven.
Some of the homes are looking for individuals or groups to come and help them with their landscaping, pulling weeds, planting flowers, helping them to make their home look great. By using volunteers this will help their funds go further to support the individuals served by not having to pay land scapers to come do the work. If you or your group would like to be a volunteer, please contact Jeff Kitch at 573-875-6181 or jkitch@woodhaventeam.org.

Building Safety & Access Reminder
As part of Broadway's commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment, our governing board implemented an enhanced keypad and keycard access system in August 2025. To help protect our congregation, guests, staff, and community partners, all exterior doors remain locked except during worship services, weddings, and funerals.
We ask everyone to support this effort by not propping doors open or requesting exceptions to the policy. All Broadway members are welcome to obtain a keycard by contacting the church office, signing a keycard agreement, and accepting the responsibilities of keycard access. Ministry teams and regularly scheduled groups may also be assigned a building access PIN.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure Broadway remains a safe, welcoming, and caring place for everyone.
