Just Getting Started - Power Up! with Best Practices in Recruiting & Retention

Small group sessions to POWER UP your recruiting and retention in the last half of 2022!

If you missed the first session, it’s not too late to join the regional small group sessions held on the fourth Thursday and Friday of August and September. During these 75-minute sessions, you’ll 1) Identify areas where you need help 2) Learn strategies and tools to build your recruiting & retention program and 3) Set goals and report results.

Some tactics and skills you’ll learn:

  • Database strategies


  • Communication processes for: email, text, auto dialers, video, etc.


  • Process for drip campaigns and follow-ups


  • Scripts


  • Utilizing monthly recruiting messages provided by Marketing & Communications Team

United | Philadelphia Breaks All-Time Monthly Recruiting Record

The United | Philadelphia office signed 17 Agents in June. What is their secret to success? Organization and teamwork! Regional VP, Rick Molner, shared some of their tactics.

  • Job Posts placed on online job boards, like Indeed.com, Facebook, Craigslist etc.


  • Clear and consistent process for recruiting communications:

    • Initial email to target list

    • Initial text to individuals

    • Call Agents directly

    • Follow-up email with a personal video message from Rick if call goes unanswered

    • Facebook/Instagram Targeted Ads to recruiting lists

    • Consistent automated email drip campaigns to target list (to keep in front of Agents)


  • Teamwork: Rick’s team has assigned roles for the recruiting process from start to finish. 1) Promotion/Awareness campaign 2) Direct Agent outreach 3) Agent follow-up 4) Setting interview appointments 5) Conducting the interview 6) Post-interview follow-ups 7) Re-engagement campaigns

Why it matters: No matter which components you put into action, a clear, consistent process plus teamwork equals a successful recruiting program.

Market Update with Rick

Existing home sales numbers reflect a housing market moving toward a more normalized market. Unit sales across the country declined 14% since May and 5.4% YOY. This, in time, will definitely make home price acceleration return to more sustainable levels. As of now, prices are up on a YOY basis a little over 13%.

  • Inventory is rising in almost all of our markets around the country. We now have a 3 month supply of inventory (last year it hovered around 1 1/2 months). Markets are considered "normal" and balanced when we are at 4-5 months of available inventory. 


  • These trends are a reflection of mortgage rate increases reducing demand.


Be aware: ALL of the closed sales reporting is a lagging indicator of what's going on. The rising inventory, extending days on market and pending sales units coming down are a leading indicator of where the market is headed.

WHAT TO DO:


1)     Coach all of our Agents to increase their prospecting dramatically.


2)     Make sure we adapt fast and adjust our advice to sellers on home prices.

Note: Many listings are currently still on market at a price that reflects the old market (last year) and need to be reduced to get ahead of the softening market. A listing that stays on market now will very likely sell for less in coming months!


3)     Regarding your goals in net sales force growth...basically the same story. This IS the market that will have agents looking for a company that has:

  • Better compensation plans


  • Better connected and supported company


  • Strong, high-integrity and caring culture


  • Great – no-cost tools and services
