Welcome from the Director of

New Student Programs & Family Engagement

Greetings Bronco Family,

I cannot believe that I am one month shy of completing my first year at Cal Poly Pomona. It has been wonderful to engage and interact with many of you during orientation sessions, monthly family chats, and at events hosted throughout the year! I can proudly say that family and supporter engagement has seen a large increase in the past year. We are so thankful to have you all as members of the Bronco Family.

Thank you to those that were able to join us this past Saturday, January 27 for the Green & Gold Block Party. Some of our Orientation Leaders had to ensure they posed with Billy Bronco (hence the lovely photo above). The spring semester is underway and with that, plenty of new opportunities for your students to remain engaged, connect with peers, and participate in exciting workshops and co-curricular events.

A new semester also means welcoming new students and their supporters into the Bronco Family. We hope our monthly newsletter and ongoing engagement efforts continue to keep you up to date on what is taking place at Cal Poly Pomona. Thank you for entrusting us with your students and we look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

Orientation Leader (OL) Job Info Sessions

The OL job application for 2024-2025 is now live.

Students can learn more about the position by attending one of our info sessions on Feb 8 & 13 during U Hour (12-1PM). Students can RSVP on myBAR!

Encourage your students to attend! This job is experience for their resumé and it provides them with free summer housing and an hourly wage of $16.50.

Scholarship Fest

Scholarship Fest is BACK!

Scholarship Fest is the Official Cal Poly Pomona Scholarship application cycle! The cycle runs every October 1st through March 2nd for scholarships awarded in the next academic year.

It’s scholarship season and this year the university is awarding millions of dollars to students of all majors. Encourage students to apply.

Students can meet with over 100 employers from various industries. Use this opportunity to network and ask your questions to representatives from companies looking to hire Cal Poly Pomona students. These employers will be providing information about career opportunities, gathering resumes, and networking to find their next top recruits to join their team.

Financial Aid Application Renewal Workshops

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships at CPP is providing workshops to help students complete the new FAFSA before the deadline on April 2nd, 2024. Drop-in support and computer access will be available. Encourage your students to attend if they need the extra support! The RSVP link for students is below, but it is not necessary.

Every student has assigned academic and faculty advisors! Students can see their advisor information in their Bronco Direct student portal.

CPP has about 300 student clubs and organizations. If your student is looking to build community, connect with peers, and expand their network, direct them to the Office of Student Engagement, Leadership & Success.

CPP offers Student Health (Medical) Services at little or no cost to students. We value the health and safety of our community! You can review the types of services offered on campus here.
