Greetings Bronco Family,

Happy New Year! We hope that all of you enjoyed your Winter Break alongside your student(s) and loved ones. As your student(s) prepare to return for the Spring '24 semester, we wanted to provide all of you with updates for the month. What team? BRONCOS! Team up and unleash your Bronco spirit at the ultimate Green and Gold Block Party! Join us for a pre-game celebration to support our women's and men's basketball teams with carnival games & rides, giveaways, face painting, and free tacos and churros while supplies last!

Stick around to cheer on both the men’s and women’s rivalry games against our neighbors, Cal State LA! Current Broncos, alumni, and family members of Broncos are all welcome to be part of this new CPP tradition! Online registration has a minimum age requirement of 18.

Join us for a virtual chat and Q&A with Financial Aid and the Bronco Family Team.

We'll be live via Zoom on Tuesday, January 30th from 6pm - 7pm PST and are looking forward to answering any questions you might have and getting to know one another.

FAFSA Simplification

The 2024-2025 FAFSA is Changing!

The FAFSA Simplification Act is an initiative by the United States Department of Education to make applying for federal student aid easier for students. The 2024-2025 FAFSA is now available.

The process for the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) will include some of the changes from the new FAFSA, both of which will be implemented for the 2024–2025 award year. All students must complete either the FAFSA or CADAA to be considered for federal student aid.

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships at CPP is dedicated to keeping students, families, supporters, and the campus community updated with these changes. They have created a webpage to address any of your questions or concerns. The website is fully up to date and will continue to be updated as they receive more information from the Department of Education. To visit the webpage, click the button below!

Did you know...

Every student has assigned academic and faculty advisors! Students can see their advisor information in their Bronco Direct student portal.

If a student has a question, they can always Ask Billy. Students at CPP love Billy Chat, our AI texting robot. Learn more about Billy Chat here. You can always say hello by texting 909-326-6145.

CPP has about 300 student clubs and organizations. If your student is looking to build community, connect with peers, and expand their network, direct them to the Office of Student Engagement, Leadership & Success.

CPP offers Student Health (Medical) Services at little or no cost to students. We value the health and safety of our community! You can review the types of services offered on campus here.

University Housing Services is Hiring

The 2024-2025 Student Leader Application for UHS is Open!

If your student is interested in applying to be a Resident Advisor or an Event Lead for next academic year, encourage them to apply before the deadline.

UHS will host two more Information Sessions this week on Tuesday, December 5th and Thursday, December 7th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. Visit their webpage to see the location, RSVP, and learn more about each role. Applications close Friday, February 2, 2024.

Important Dates and Deadlines

January 8 - February 2: Add/Drop Period for Spring 24'. Students may add and drop courses online without record. After Feb 2nd, dropping a course will result in a "W' (withdrawal) on a student's record.

January 19: Last Day to drop and receive 100% refund.

January 20: Spring 24' Semester Begins. Please note that only students registered for Saturday courses will start Saturday, January 20th. The majority of students will begin classes on Monday, January 22nd.

January 27: Green & Gold Block Party. Save the date for this event! More information will be shared in next month's newsletter.

January 30: Bronco Family Chat. Join us for a virtual chat and Q&A with the Bronco Family Team. Register for the chat here!

February 2: Deadline to opt out of Instant Access Complete. Last day for students to opt out of Instant Access Complete for Spring 24'.
