A Message from Dr. Hilton

Dear Bradfield Families,

I was thrown back into my childhood this week seeing all of our Broncos work the large parachute in P.E. Hearing all of the students’ cheers and giggles as the parachute billowed up to the sky was just precious. I even helped 1st grade make a tent and sat inside it. It was so much fun!!

The Father-Daughter Dance was this last Wednesday. So many of our Bronco girls could hardly wait for school to dismiss so they could get all dressed up for the evening festivities. Thank you, Dads Club, for chairing this event and helping dads create lifelong memories with their daughters.

A quick shout out to Dads Club for giving sweatshirts to our crossing guards, Officer Holley, cafeteria staff, and office staff. These sweatshirts are perfect for the cold mornings. We appreciate your kindness.

Finally, it’s almost time for the Science Fair! The last day to register is January 27. Projects are due the morning of January 31st. We currently have over 100 students signed up! WOW!! I cannot wait to see what our Bronco scientists are wondering about and how they will test their hypothesis. It is truly going to be amazing!

As always, I hope you all are having an amazing weekend, and I will see you on the front steps on Monday.

Park ONLY in designated parking spots.
Do not block neighbors’ driveways… even for one minute.
Do not park in “No Parking” spots… even if you are waiting in your car… it blocks traffic.
Cross ONLY at the crosswalks.
Do not cross Southern Avenue in the middle of the block.
Leave crosswalks passable.
Do not pull into crosswalks when pedestrians are present.

Principals Hilton & Cummins will present and host a Q&A for preschool parents. They will share their perspectives on how to determine if your child is prepared for Kindergarten. They will discuss what to expect from a typical day and how to register for this upcoming school year.

This program will also include a donation announcement of the money raised at the ABPA Home for the Holidays Home Tour.

PTA News

A Message from our PTA President, Rachel Reed

Hopefully everyone saw the announcement this week that Auction tickets are on sale NOW! We cannot wait to celebrate our amazing school together the evening of February 22nd. Did you know that Auction is PTA’s single largest fundraiser of the year, allowing us to continue to provide crucial financial support to Bradfield and HPISD? After months of planning by Auction Chairs, Erika Burton, Mary Frances Kearney, and Madison Strode, this is a party you won’t want to miss!

This week, I want to recognize two wonderful PTA teams who provide much needed support to Bradfield’s library. Lindsey Baker and Sarah Ganier, our Library Volunteer Coordinators, lead a team of dedicated volunteers who get books back on the shelves and make sure the library is in tip-top shape for our Broncos! Our library cannot function without them! Second, as our Library Gift Book chairs, Genevieve Short and Medley Turner carry out the program that not only funds purchases of new books but also gives our Broncos a fun opportunity to leave their personal stamp on Bradfield’s book collection. Thank you, ladies, for your contributions to our cherished library!
