Dear Bradfield Families,
Throughout the district, students, and staff will celebrate how each of our unique differences make for a stronger learning environment for every student, every day. This week, students will participate in classroom discussions, activities, and events focused on inclusion, acceptance, and empathy for others.

This week begins Inclusive Schools Week throughout Texas and our district. This year’s theme, Kindness Counts will kick off during BBTV as our Counselor, Mrs. Adams, reads books about the importance of kindness, as well as how each of us contributes to and has a meaningful impact when we show kindness to others. This is truly the heart of our community!
A special thank you to Special Education Coordinator, Shauntée Carpenter, Counselor, Janet Adams, Campus Instructional Technologist, Leslie Kennemer, and Art Teacher, Colleen Cromley, for collaborating, for collaborating and planning daily activities focusing on inclusivity and kindness.
Be on the lookout for over 550 kindness rocks to be spread throughout our community. I would also like to thank Highland Park ISD's Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) and Bradfield's SEPAC representatives, Laura McCallan and Julia Butler, for donating and delivering staff Inclusive Schools Week t-shirts.

A Message from our PTA President, Rachel Reed
PTA hopes everyone had a fantastic, and restful, Thanksgiving break!
This season, I am especially thankful for the amazing dedication of our countless PTA volunteers and the incredible and ongoing generosity of PTA donors. Words cannot express our gratitude for all the ways you support our wonderful school.
Prior to the break, PTA completed one of our most important activities of the year - Fall Gifting. Thanks to the generosity of all PTA supporters, our organization was able fo fulfill Bradfield staff’s gift requests by contributing more than $130,000 directly to our school, to fund items such as Chromebook replacements, copiers, printers, instructional materials and supplies, and much more. Gifts like these are one of the primary ways our organization can directly support the education of our children and the operations at our school. You can find full details of this semester’s gift in the PTA’s gift letter to HPISD.
It’s hard to believe we are already to December. I look forward to the exciting next three weeks with you and your families as we round out the first half of the school year.
Gratefully,
Rachel

Decoding Dyslexia Park Cities is now Park Cities Dyslexia Alliance (PCDA). This name change reaffirms the organization's commitment to the Park Cities community and celebrates the newly forged alliance with Highland Park ISD. There is no formal membership requirement for this group, because all parents of dyslexic students are welcome to attend PCDA's events. The organization partnered with HPISD for the district's Annual Dyslexia Meeting in October and hosted an evening Parent Social in early November.
Next up - a Parent Coffee on December 3rd from 8:30 to 10:30am at 4061 Bryn Mawr. This event is the perfect opportunity to ask questions, get information, and share things that have helped your student. Visit pcdyslexia.org for event details and to RSVP.
